SIEFERT SWEEPS 141 SPEEDWAY IMCA MOD OPENER

(Francis Creek, WI) May 5 — Green Bay's Jared Siefert ducked underneath Denmark's Tim Czarnecki for the lead on lap 4 and kept the lead to capture the season opening, 20 lap IMCA modified feature on First Choice Auto night at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. With his heat win Siefert netted a sweep for the night.
A total of 92 cars pulled through the pit gate, including 15 IMCA modifieds, 20 stock cars, 21 northern sportmods, 15 hobby stocks and 21 sport fours.
Siefert had built up a full straightaway lead and sifted through lapped cars when the checkers flew. Czarnecki took second, followed by Mishicot's Kyle Kudick, Green Bay's Eric Van Iten and Sheboygan Falls Randy Markwardt Jr.
Tigerton's Greg Gutt inherited the lead with two laps to go and went on to win the 20 lap IMCA stock car feature.
At the drop of the green arch rivals Rod Snellenberger of Pulaski and Green Bay's John Heinz swapped the lead for the first several laps. Heinz dropped out on lap 12 when the rear end was tore out of his car. Snellenberger inherited the lead on the restart but suffered a mechanical breakdown, forcing him to pit. Gutt took the lead and the checkers followed by Horicon's Jeremy Christians, Oconto's Scott Stewart, Greenleaf's Mike Gilson and Saukville's Roger Johnson.
Oconto's Travis Cain slipped past De Pere's Johnny Whitman for the lead with three laps to go to win the 20 lap IMCA northern sportmod feature. Whitman settled for second, followed by Manitowoc's Jesse Brey, Oconto Falls Eric Arneson and Oconto's Rob Charapada.
Mishicot's Dean Anhalt scored a clean sweep in the IMCA hobby stock division, winning both the heat and 15 lap feature, the first of his career. Kewaunee's Luke Lemmens, Kewaunee's Frank Paul, Algoma's Adam Pallex and Kewaunee's Keith Kickbush placed second through fifth, respectively.
Sheboygan's James Zitzer scored a clean sweep in the sport fours.
Next Wednesday night, May 12 will be sponsored by Tri County Heating of New Franken. The street stocks will be the guest class. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m..
IMCA modifieds, stock cars, northern sportmods and sport fours will be the track's four, weekly classes while IMCA hobby stocks, grand national sportsman and street stocks will be running on a rotating basis. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint cars will be making an appearance on Sunday, May 30 while the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association will be running late model specials on June 16, July 14, September 1 and September 24 and 25 as part of the Fall Classic.
