(Francis Creek, WI) June 18 — Green Bay’s Jared Siefert continued his winning ways at 141 Speedway, taking the lead on lap two and cruising to victory in the 20 lap Van Drisse Racing Parts feature Saturday night.
A total of 90 drivers turned out to race, including 20 Modifieds, 16 Stock Cars, 10 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 19 Sportmods, 14 Street stocks and 11 Sport fours.
Siefert jumped into the lead on lap two, passing Green Bay’s Chris Engels for the lead and never looking back. Siefert sweated out three caution periods and late surge by Jamie Schmidt of Seymour to collect the win. Schmidt hung on for second place, followed by Engels. De Pere’s Johnny Whitman finished fourth after charging from the tail of the field. Green Bay’s Eddie Muenster rounded out the top five finishers.
By virtue of his eighth place finish, Green Bay’s Eric Van Iten won the $100 gift certificate for Manitowoc Motor and Machining.
Brillion’s Alex Stumpf crossed the line first in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand National feature. However during a post race inspection his car was deemed to have an illegal part, handing the win to the second place finisher TJ Smith of Menasha.
Whitelaw’s Mike Conard made his first race of the year a good one, as Conard wound up winning the stock car feature with a thrilling, last lap pass. The win was the first of the career. Denmark’s Rick Mahlberg took second, followed by Pulaski’s Junior Karcz, Saukville’s Roger Johnson and Greenleaf’s Mike Gilson.
Green Bay’s Josh Long survived a race long battle with his brother Brandon Long and won the Sportmod feature. Suamico’s Andy Kleczka wound up second, followed Two Rivers Jesse Brey, Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik and Brandon Long.
Driving a car borrowed by Danny Gracyalny, Pulaski’s Junior Karcz wound up winning the Street stock feature. Francis Creek’s Kraig Koehler pressured Karcz in the waning laps but wound up second. Brillion’s Ryan Brandes, Two Rivers Dave Gauger Sr. and New Holstein’s Tim Mueller.
Two Rivers Brandon Tegen passed Adam Broehm of Stockbridge for the lead with two laps to go to win the 15 lap sport four feature.
Manitowoc’s Keith Kellenbenz brought the crowd to it’s feet, flipping onto his roof on the frontstretch in his Grand National heat race. His crew put the battered car back together where he wound up finishing 9th in the feature.
