REUTER CAPTURES 141 SPEEDWAY CURTAIN CLOSER
(Francis Creek, WI) Sept 25 –Shawano’s Joe “The Show” Reuter led all 20 laps and survived two caution periods to win his first career 30 lap late model feature on night number two of the Fall Classic at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.
A total of 267 cars took part in the two day show. The field of drivers included 19 late models, 37 modifieds, 35 stock cars, 33 street stocks, 39 grand nationals, 26 sportmods, 32 hobby stocks and 46 sport fours.
During the final laps Glenbeulah’s Tim Buhler passed Shawano’s Tom Naeyaert to take second. Naeyaert finished third, followed by Waukesha brother Russ and Rick Scheffler, respectively.
Algoma’s Todd “Felix” Dart caught and passed Two Rivers Kyle Kudick for the lead with four laps remaining and rode the high side to victory in the 30 lap modified feature. Kudick hung on for second. Green Bay’s Kyle Lentz and Pulaski’s Jason Czarapata both qualified into the feature through the semi-feature. Both battled their way from deep in the pack to take third and fourth place, respectively.
Little Suamico’s Sean Jerovetz rounded out the top five finishers.
Oconto Falls Kyle Frederick led wire-to-wire en route to stomping the field and winning the 30 lap stock car feature. The win was Frederick’s second as he won the division’s main event in 2006. Greenleaf’s Jamie Colwell took runnerup honors, followed by Seymour’s Shawn Wagner, Green Bay’s John Heinz and Pulaski’s Rod Snellenberger, who battled his way into the main by winning the semi feature.
Chilton’s Steve Schneider slipped inside of West Allis’ Dan Sorce coming out of turn four as the checkers flew to win the photo finish, 30 lap grand national sportsman feature. Sorce had led since lap 10 after he passed Joe Houpt for the lead. Sorce had built up a comfortable lead when a caution flew with two laps remaining, setting up a two lap shootout to the finish. Sorce took second place money, followed by Brillion brothers Ben and Alex Stumpf and track champion TJ Smith of Menasha.
New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach passed Green Bay’s Josh Long for the lead on lap 10 and cruised to victory in the 30 lap sportmod feature. Long took second, followed by De Pere’s Johnny Whitman. Sturgeon Bay’s Kelsy Hayes sliced her way through the field from 19th to finish fourth. White Lake’s Jake Solin rounded out the top five finishers.
Kewaunee’s Eddie “Eagle” Anschutz slipped past Little Chute’s Danny Gracyalny on lap 10 and cruised to victory in the 25 lap street stock main. The win was Anschutz’ second straight Fall Classic win and his fifth overall. Anschutz won three times in the hobby stock class. Black Creek’s Joe Schwister took second, followed by Oshkosh’s Brian Drexler, Gracyalny and Kaukauna’s Matt Drawenek.
Keith Kickbush of Kewaunee won the hobby stock feature.
Oconto’s Ralph Liegois Jr. captured his second straight, 4 cylinder feature.
