(Francis Creek, WI) June 9 – It was the “Kyle and Kyle” show Saturday night at 141 Speedway, as Green Bay’s “Kyle” Lentz motored around Mishicot’s “Kyle” Kudick on the final lap to capture the modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek on Custom Windows Plus/1st Choice Auto night.

A total of 141 cars checked in to do battle. The field included 24 modifieds, 15 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 30 stock cars, 24 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 31 IMCA northern sportmods and 17 sport fours.

Kudick, who started in row two, dove underneath polesitter Adam Reed at the drop of the green of the 20 lap contest. Kudick dove to the bottom and puttered around the slick, third mile clay oval. Dean Maurer of De Pere’s mount stalled on lap seven, drawing an amber.

Kudick kept the top spot through a pair of yellows, one of which was thrown on lap 13 for a Jamie Schmidt spin. When racing resumed, Lentz, who had stared in row four, was running in third and bolted into second on a restart. A caution flew with three laps to go, and Lentz jumped into the lead when there was contact with Kudick and third place driver Mitch McGrath. Lentz earned the win, with Kudick and Neosho’s Lentz taking the podium finishes. De Pere’s Jay Matthias and Suamico’s Sean Jerovetz rounding out the top five.

West Allis Don Sorce Jr. scored a clean sweep in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand National class. Sorce Jr. won his heat and kept Manitowoc’s Logan Rhode and company at bay to win the 15 lap feature. Rhode settled for second at the pay widnwo, followed by defending track champion TJ Smith of Menasha, Winneconne’s Tim Doehling and Whitelaw’s Kevin Naidl.

Green Bay’s John Heinz netted a clean sweep, winning both his heat and the feature in the stock car division. The stock car main got off to a rough start, with a pair of opening laps wrecks. The crashes took out Luke Lemmens of Kewaunee, Brussels’ Jeremy Anschutz and Luxemburg’s Tyler Smith. When racing resumed Krakow rookie Josh Mroczokowski took the lead, with Heinz, who started in row six, slicing his way through the pack into second, through a pair of caution periods.

Heinz slipped past Mroczkowski for the lead on lap eight, and held the top spot through two more yellows to collect the win. Denmark’s Rick Mahlberg took second, followed by Mroczkowski, Pulaski’s Devin Snellenberger and Manitowoc’s Brett Wenzel rounded out the top five finishers.

Algoma’s Tyler Hackett fended off a late race challenge from New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach to win the IMCA northern sportmod feature. Lautenbach took second, followed by Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert, Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik and Green Bay’s Mike Duphinais. Hackett won his heat, nailing a sweep for the night.

Greenville’ Shawn Haydon dodged several caution periods and a late race surge from Green Bay’s Tony Everard to win a time shortened 15 lap Tisler Salvage street stock feature. Everard took second, followed by Luxemburg’s Mitch Vandermause, Manitowoc’s Brad Laurent and Reedsville’s Matt Reinke.

Defending track champion Ralph Liegeois Jr. charged from last to first to win the sport four feature. But a post race inspection drew a disqualifcation, handing the win to second place finisher Cody Hungerford of Little Chute.
