KILGORE WINS 141 BATTLE & WAR IN MOD ACTION

(Francis Creek, WI) August 25 –New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore passed Juneau’s Russ Reinwald and Brussels Cory Cochart in a three wide pass with seven laps remaining. Kilgore won the feature and in doing so clinched the track title in the modifieds by four points over 2011 track champ Sean Jerovetz on Gandrud Chevrolet track championship night at 141 Speedway Saturday night. The title was Kilgore’s first ever at 141.
Champions were also crowned in the track’s five other divisions, as the weekly points racing came to an end. Green Bay’s John Heinz collected his first title in the stock car class by 33 points over Junior Karcz and 88 points over Brett Wenzel. In the Tisler Salvage street stocks Kraig Koehler of Francis Creek wins the point championship by 11 points over Brad Laurent of Manitowoc and 34 marks over George Paul of Luxemburg.
In the IMCA northern sport mods Josh Long of Suamico won track champion by 32 points over Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert and 39 points over Brad Lautenbach. West Allis’ Don Sorce Jr. won his first Brian Peterson Builders Grand National champion over 2011 track champion TJ Smith by 41 points and 51 points over Logan Rhode. Brian Johnson out of Oconto Falls won the sport four track title.
A total of 135 cars were on hand including 29 Stock cars, 26 Tisler Salvage Street Stocks, 23 Northern Sport Mod, 14 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 23 Modifieds, and 20 Sport Fours.
Shawn Kilgore wins modified feature which helps him win the track title by only 4 points. Tim Czarneski takes 2nd and Cory Cochart takes 3rd with Sobieski’s Sean Jerovetz finishes 4th.
Jeremy Jauquet wins the 15 lap time shortened race due to numerous cautions. Jauquet, of Green Bay won back to back nights here at 141 speedway and Luxemburg Speedway last night. Dustin Loberger from Oconto came in 2nd, Jesse Colwell of Greenleaf in 3rd and Steve Thorton of Sobieski ended up in 4th.
In the Tisler Salvage Street Stock’s Dan Gracyalny who was the previous track champion made a late race pass to capture his first feature win of the season. Manitowoc’s Brad Laurent came home in 2nd in the feature and in the point standings the year. The 2012 point champion Kraig Koehler out of Francis Creek takes 3rd.
Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik come from 9th to take the lead on lap 14 and goes on win the Sport Mod feature. New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach comes up short in 2nd place and Josh Long your 2012 track champion ended up in 3rd.
Don Sorce of West Allis takes the lead with 5 laps to go and wins another feature in the Brian Peterson Grand Nationals. 2011 track champion TJ Smith from Menesha finished 2nd and Greg Haese came in 3rd.
Winners of the motor and car giveaways were: “CZ” Tim Czarneski of Denmark in the Modifieds, Josh Mroczkowski in the stock cars, Ricky Mott of Larrabee in the IMCA sport mods, and Green Bay’s Tony Everard in the Street Stock division. Third-generation driver Jake Maurer of De Pere wound up winning the IMCA northern sportmod that was given away. Businesses who supported these giveaway included 141 Speedway, Manitowoc Motor and Machine, Gandrud Chevrolet, Tri County Heating, Jerovetz Motorsports Shock Services, S & B Trailers, Victory Sign and Thunder Rock Fabrication.
There will be no weekly racing on Saturday, September 1. The third appearance of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaws will take place Sunday, September 2. Joining the sprinters will be the Tisler Salvage street stocks, sport fours and mini sprints, which will make their first ever appearance at 141 Speedway since it was converted into a dirt track in 2010.
