KILGORE TAKES LATE LEAD AND CAPTURED IMCA MODIFIED FEATURE AT 141 SPEEDWAY

(Francis Creek, WI) July 13– Shawn Kilgore of New Franken took the lead with just three laps to go and captured the IMCA modified feature at 141 Speedway Saturday night.
A total of 90 cars checked in to compete, including 21 Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds, 6 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 17 IMCA stock cars, 18 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 18 Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and 10 sport fours.
The defending track champion started 14th and made his way up to the front in the closing laps to take the lead away from Jay Matthias of De Pere. By winning tonight Kilgore will extend his points lead over Matthias. Tim Czarneski finished third and RM Van Pay fourth both drivers from Denmark. Eric Van Iten of Green Bay rounded out the top five.
Defending track champion John Heinz of Green Bay works his way to the front from the 9th spot in just a few laps and captured the IMCA Stock Car Feature. Dustin Loberger of Oconto started next to Heinz on the outside and worked his way to the second spot within the closing laps. Logan Rhode of Whitelaw battled up front for the lead for a couple laps but slips back to a comfortable third and Scott Stewart of Oconto fourth and Tyler Smith of Luxemburg fifth.
Scooter Boyea of Abrams who sweated out numerous cautions early on and a fast charging defending track champion Josh Long of Suamico and JJ Anderson of Pulaski. A late race caution with only a few laps left would wipe away Boyea’s lead but he would hold off Long who finished second and Anderson third. Green Bay’s Mike Dauphinais placing fourth and Troy Degrave of De Pere fifth.
Veteran Don Sorce of West Allis mopped up in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals by picking up the heat and feature win. Shawn Schmitt places second and Chad Ninmer third.
In the Tisler Salvage Street Stocks defending track champion Kraig Koehler of Francis Creek takes the lead on lap 7 and stretches out his lead over Josh McDonald of Hilbert but a late race caution on lap 18 would wipe away Koehlers lead. On the restart, Koehler held off a hard charge by McDonald and third place finisher Paul Diefenthaler of Manitowoc. Matt Reinke of Reedsville placing fourth with young Justin Mahlberg of Denmark fifth.
Mike Montie of Abrams picks up the clean sweep in the Sport Four division. Jeff Brehmer in second and Brian Johnson third.
Weekly racing will resume next Saturday July 20 at 141 Speedway at 6 p.m. the $10,000-to-win Clash at the Creek V modified special has been reset for Wednesday, July 24 at 7 p.m. Joining the modifieds will be the Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour presented by Kick Ass Drive Train & Iron Horse Recycling.
