KILGORE SURVIVES CAUTION FILLED IMCA MOD MAIN AT 141 SPEEDWAY

(Francis Creek, WI) July 27 –Defending track champion Shawn Kilgore of New Franken took the lead on lap six and went on to win the IMCA modified feature at 141 Speedway Saturday night. As the laps wound down, Kilgore would check out of the race with Randy Markwardt of Sheboygan Falls battling for the second spot with Kyle Kudick of Mishicot. Kudick and Markwardt would fight for numerous laps with Kudick securing the second spot in the end. Markwardt settled for third and Eric Van Iten of Green Bay captured fourth and Jay Matthias of Green Bay fifth.
In the IMCA Stock Car division defending track champion John Heinz of Green Bay took the lead away from Tyler Smith of Luxemburg with four laps to go and survived a few cautions before Heinz captured the feature win. By winning the feature Heinz will now be your current point leader in the stock car division. Smith was in the lead for the beginning of the race and then slid back to the second spot where he finished. Dustin Loberger of Oconto was racing hard at the end for the podium finish in third with his teammate Scott Stewart right behind him in fourth and Kewaunee’s Todd Augustain finishing a season best in fifth.
Defending track champion Josh Long of Suamico battled for the lead with three other cars on lap nine and would take the lead with seven laps to go and went on to capture the feature in the Hansel Trucking IMCA Sport Mods. Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert was one of the four cars battling for the lead and came up short in the second spot. Scott Boyea of Abrams took away the third spot from Suamico’s Andy Kleczka with a few laps to go and after leading the majority of the race Rob Kroll of Bonduel would fall back to the fifth spot.
Greenville’s Shawn Haydon took the lead on lap eight and went on to capture the checkered flag in the Tisler Salvage Street Stocks. Haydon would pick up the clean sweep by winning both his heat and feature. Current point leader Paul Diefenthaler of Manitowoc picked up second with J. Behnke of Brillion third and Justin Linder of Colby fourth. Defending track champion Kraig Koehler of Francis Creek placed fifth.
Kevin Naidl picks up the clean sweep in the Brian Peterson Grand National division. Terry Van Roy of Darboy took second on his first night out this season with Shawn Schmitt of Manitowoc third.
Jeff Brehmer of Pulaski would pick up the clean sweep in the sport four division with Kyle Stark of Pulaski second and Brian Johnson of Oconto Falls third.
A total of 100 cars checked in to compete, including 17 Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds, 8 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 19 IMCA stock cars, 21 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 24 Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and 11 sport fours.
Racing will resume next Saturday, August 3 for Dorsch Ford Lincoln Kia/TA Motorsports night at the races. The Wood Brothers Nextel Cup Ford will be on display behind the grandstand.
