DEFENDING CHAMP KILGORE WINS MOD MAIN AT 141 SPEEDWAY (DART WINS BIG CASH DASH, SECURES 141 $10,000 CLASH PROVISIONAL)

(Francis Creek, WI) June 22– Defending track champion Shawn Kilgore of New Franken grabbed the lead with eight laps remaining and sped away to capture the IMCA modified feature during the Hansel Trucking mid season championship at 141 Speedway Saturday night. By virtue of his win Kilgore padded his points lead over the rest of the field. Benji Lacrosse of Green Bay closed the gap on the leader on the waning laps and finished second at the pay window. Kilgore charged to the front from 12th spot in 12 laps and Lacrosse marched from 17th to the front.Tyler Hackett of Algoma placed third with RM VanPay of Denmark fourth and Brian Mullen of Seymour fifth.
Defending track champion Larry Karcz Jr. of Pulaski came out on top after battling with Dustin Loberger for the lead on the last six laps in the IMCA Stock Car class. Jerry Leary snuck past Dustin Loberger late in the race to capture the second spot. Loberger of Oconto, who is the point leader placed third with Devin Snellenberger of Pulaski fourth and Scott Stewart of Oconto in fifth.
Defending track champion Josh Long of Little Suamico captured the feature win after numerous cautions in the Hansel Trucking IMCA Sport Mods. Ryan Lemieux of Sturgeon Bay picked up second with rookie Hunter Parsons of Green Bay finishing his best the season in third. Last week’s winner Andy Kleczka of Suamico places fourth and Scott Boyea fifth.
In the Brian Peterson Grand Nationals Gregg Haese of Manitowoc who got sent to the back for a caution but battles his way back up to the front to capture another feature at 141 Speedway. Winneconne’s Tim Dolehling finishes a season best in second with Kevin Naidl of Whitelaw third and Shawn Schmitt of Manitowoc fourth.
In the Tisler Salvage Street Stocks Greenville’s Shawn Hayden who wins his B main and starts 16th in the feature that charged to the front and took the lead away from second place finisher Paul Diefenthaler of Manitowoc. Diefenthaler and Jerry Winkler of Oshkosh battled for the second spot in the closing laps with Winkler losing the battle and places third with Dan Juszczyk of Pulaski fourth and defending track champion Kraig Koehler of Francis Creek rounding out the top five.
Point leader Mike Montie of Abrams captured the feature win in the Sport four’s with Mathias Prouty of De Pere second and Jeff Brehmer third.
A total of 140 cars checked in to compete, including 35 Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds, 9 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 29 IMCA stock cars, 29 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 27 Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and 11 sport fours.
The fans were also treated to an appearance by NASCAR star Kenny Schrader. Schrader competed in his Federated Auto Parts IMCA modified, where he came up short and did not transfer to the A Main. Kenny signed autographs for fans both before and after the show.
There will be no racing next Saturday June 29 at 141 Speedway. But on June 26-27 141 will host the highest paying modified event in Wisconsin history – the $10,000-to-win Clash at the Creek V. The debut of the Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour presented by Kick Ass Drive Train & Iron Horse Recycling will take place on Thursday night. More than 60 drivers from three states are entered for this huge event, which kicks off with a practice session Tuesday at 3 p.m. The practice session is free to the race fans.
By winning the 15 lap Big Cash Dash that was held tonight, Todd “Felix” Dart of Algoma secured himself a spot in the $10,000-to-win show by earning the 141 Speedway provisional.
