SUPPORT CLASSES, FORMAT ANNOUNCED FOR 141 SPEEDWAY CLASH @ CREEK IV
(IMCA northern sportmods, stock cars & Tisler Salvage street stocks will compete)
(Francis Creek, WI) June 20 – IMCA northern sportmods, Tisler Salvage street stocks and stock cars will be part of the action Wednesday, June 27 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.
The divisions will be run in support of the Clash @ The Creek IV presented by Budweiser and Larry’s Distributing. It will be the second event for the Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design & Directional Drilling Services. Oconto Falls’ “Dancin’ Lance” Arneson won the series inaugural event Sunday, June 17 at Wilmot Raceway.
Seymour’s Brian Mullen is the defending Clash @ The Creek race winner, as he beat out De Pere’s Johnny “Hitman” Whitman and De Pere’s Mike Mashl to the checkers in 2011.
In an effort to save time for this mid week special, track promoter Bruce Conard has thrown a little twist into the evening’s format. For the stock cars and Tisler Salvage street stocks, the top twelve drivers in the track’s weekly point standings who show up prior to the draw cutoff at 6:15 p.m. will be locked into the nights features.
A roll of the die by the track’s points leaders in the respective divisions will determine the invert for the first six rows of the feature lineup. All other drivers will run a qualifying race, or races depending upon the number of cars. “With the huge field of modifieds we’re expecting eliminating heat races in two of the support classes is something we felt we had to do for a Wednesday night show,” said Conard. “We want to give the fans a fast paced, exciting show and get them on the road at a decent hour. That’s our goal.”
IMCA northern sportmods will run their full program sanctioned, including heat races. They will employ a draw/redraw format for this special event which will dole out track points.
The Badger Mod Tour will run it’s regular full program including heat races, B mains and the 40 lap A main. $1,000 will go to the winner, along with another $1,000 that is available in lap leader money, making it possible for one BMT driver to fatten his or her wallet to the tune of $2,000.
This race will also count towards the weekly motor and race car giveaways as well in the three support classes. Adult admission prices are $15.00 for this event. Seniors and students are $10.00.
