SATURDAY NIGHT ACTION RETURNS TO 141 SPEEDWAY JUNE 2
(Francis Creek, WI) May 29 – After having the last Saturday off weekly action returns to 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday, June 2.
In the modified division New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore holds a three point lead over Denmark veteran RM Van Pay. 2010 track champion Jared Siefert of Luxemburg three points out of first place. So far, 45 different modified drivers have competed at the track weekly.
In the IMCA northern sportmod class Kewaunee’s “Flyin Brian” Bruechert is the current top points man, holding a 3 point lead over Suamico’s Josh Long. Defending track champion Troy Jerovetz is third 15 points out of first. 48 different sportmods drivers have competed weekly so far this season.
Green Bay veteran John Heinz holds a comfortable 14 point lead over 2011 track champion Junior Karcz in the rough-and-tumble stock car division. Kewaunee’s Luke Lemmens is third 25 points out of first place. 40 different stock car drivers have competed at the track so far this year.
West Allis veteran Don Sorce Jr. has made the long tow from the Milwaukee area worthwhile so far. Sorce is the points leader in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals with a 15 point lead over Manitowoc’s Logan Rhode. Malone’s Tim Warner and defending track champion TJ Smith of Menasha are tied for third 23 points out of first. 25 different grand nationals have competed weekly so far this year.
In the Tisler Salvage street stocks 2009 IMCA hobby stock champion George Paul of Luxemburg is the current point leader, eight points ahead of hometown driver Kraig Koehler. Green Bay’s Tony Everard is third, 22 points out of first place. The street stocks boast the largest collection of drivers thus far, with 53 different drivers testing the high-banked, third mile, clay oval this year. During a Sunday night special May 27 Reedsville’s Matt Reinke wheeled his gold colored, 1964 Chevelle to victory lane, scoring a popular win.
Oconto’s Brian Johnson holds a slim one point margin over fellow Oconto driver Mike Montie. Little Chute’s Cody Hungerford is 26 points out of first in third place.
