PARTY STARTS EARLY FOR 141 SPEEDWAY CREEK CLASSIC OCTOBER 7 AND 8
(Francis Creek, WI) Sept. 26 – The motorhomes, pop up campers and team transporters are rolling in as early as Wednesday October 5 as both race teams and fans prepare for the 2011 Creek Classic at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek October 7 and 8.
Although the racing doesn’t start until Friday night, track promoters Bruce and Renee Conard have been flooded with calls from drivers and fans, eager to stake out their pit stalls and camping spots. “We’re open for business for this special on Wednesday night, and we expect a good number of campers to roll in plenty early,” said Bruce Conard. “We’ve got calls drivers coming from as far west as Rice Lake, north in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and from the south in Illinois. We’re looking forward to a big weekend.”
Last season a total of 267 cars took part in the two day show. “With this being our second year as a dirt track, we’re pretty confident we’ll be closer to 300 cars,” said Bruce Conard. “There just seems to be a lot more interest and energy with our Fall special this season. The campers and drivers are coming earlier and earlier it seems.”
Camping for all fans is free and many race teams are snatching up the paved pit stalls. To reserve a paved or gravel pit stall call Renee at (920) 905 5111. A complete list of documents pertaining to this show, including drivers payout, can be found at 141speedway.com. Live entertainment will be provided Friday night with Oil Can Harry and Running Blind performing on Saturday. The bar and grill will be open beginning Wednesday night, with breakfast being served in the Victory Lane Sports bar from 8 a.m. til 10:30 with seating made available. The raindate, if needed, will be Sunday, October 9.
