LIVE TELEVISION COVERAGE COMING TO 141 SPEEDWAY IN 2013

(Popular “Sports Showdown” on My32 to broadcast from third-mile, clay oval)

(Francis Creek, WI) November 21 – 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wisconsin will play host to a live broadcast of it’s weekly racing program on Saturday nights in 2013 on My 32′s “N.E.W. Sports Showdown.”

It will be the first time ever that live, televised racing will take place of dirt track racing in northeast Wisconsin.

In 2012, Sports Showdown with it’s broadcast team of Ted Stefaniak, John Maino and Joe Verdegan, broadcast live asphalt racing on Thursday nights at Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna. “We think overall the pros most definitely outweigh any potential cons on this deal,” said 141 track promoter Bruce Conard. “I thought the broadcasts last year from WIR were great and I think with TV coverage we can expose dirt track racing to a whole new potential fan base. We’re very excited for it.”

Three months ago Sports Showdown crews checked out the facilities at 141 Speedway. “We’re going to make a few additional facility improvements to accommodate for the TV coverage,” said Conard. We can’t wait as this can provide for added exposure for the both the race teams marketing partners and 141 Speedway itself.”

141 Speedway is located 15 minutes south of Green Bay off highway 43 and hosts an average of 25 events per season, including weekly racing, Bumper to Bumper IRA sprint cars, Badger Mod Tour, and is the host track for the Sippel Open Wheel racing school. 141 hosts the annual “Clash @ The Creek” and popular two day “Creek Classic” events.

The track was converted from a tight, quarter mile paved oval to a state-of-the-art, high-banked, third mile, clay oval in 2010.

A specific broadcast schedule is expected to be released in the very near future.
