IMCA HOBBY STOCKS ADDED TO 141 IRA SPRINT CAR SPECIAL MAY 30

(Francis Creek, WI) May 26 — The locally popular IMCA hobby stocks have been added to the Bumper to Bumper IRA outlaw sprint car special Sunday, May 30 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.

Joining the high-powered, 850 horsepower winged warriors will also be the regionally popular grand national sportsman and sport fours.

“Bringing in the IMCA hobby stocks was pretty much a no-brainer for us,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “Most of those guys aren’t too far away from us. The don’t run anywhere else that night so we’re glad to have them.” The IMCA hobby stocks will race that night for track, state, regional and national points.

A new mister was installed onto the track’s water truck. “We want to make sure we keep the high side moist, especially in turns three and four, so those sprinters can build a nice cushion,” said Conard. “We’ve made great strides in preparing this track and we’re confident we’ll give these guys a good racing surface on Sunday, May 30.”

Recently IRA president Steve Sinclair toured the high-banked, third-mile clay oval. “I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the facilities there,” said Sinclair. “Bruce and Renee Conard have put together one of the finest short tracks in the Midwest. I’m anxious to see how fast our guys fly around that place.”

“What’s nice about that Sunday is fans can watch the Indy 500 and the World 600 inside of our sports bar on our big screen televisions,” said Bruce Conard. “It’s going to be a great Memorial Day weekend party. We’re looking forward to a great field of cars and we’ll see how fast the sprinters can tour our track. With most folks having off the following Memorial Day we’re looking forward to a great crowd for this event.”

The Midwest’s premiere sprint car series competes at Hartford (MI) Motor Speedway Friday night and at Wilmot Speedway Saturday night prior. “The fact those guys have off on our schedule Monday means we should have a full field of cars for this Sunday night special,” said Sinclair.

The band Bare Bones Blind will be performing in the sports bar after the racing program. The pit gate opens at 4 p.m., the grandstands open at 5 p.m. Hot laps will begin at 5:30 p.m. Qualifying will take place at 6:15 p.m. with racing to follow. Adult ticket prices at the gate will be $20.00, seniors are $20.00 at the gate, students 9 and under are free with a paid adult. Adult ticket can be purchased in advance for $18.00 and Senior tickets for $12.00 at the following locations: Van Drisse Racing Parts in Luxemburg, Muenster’s Shell in Green Bay and Cooler Graphics and Designs of Manitowoc.
