FIELD SET FOR 141 SPEEDWAY “BIG CASH DASH” JUNE 15
(WINNER OF IMCA MOD RACE EARNS BERTH TO $10,000-TO-WIN CLASH @ CREEK V JUNE 27)
(Francis Creek, WI) June 10 – A 13 car field has been set as 141 Speedway feature winners, former track champions and top point getters will throw down in a 15 lap “Big Cash Dash” Saturday June 15 at the high-banked, third-mile clay oval in Francis Creek. The winner of the special dash will earn the 141 Speedway provisional into the $10,000-to-win Clash at the Creek June 26-27.
Drivers earned their way into the Dash three ways. 1) By winning an IMCA modified feature at 141 Speedway in 2013. 2) Being in the top ten in points following the June 1 races. 3) Being a former 141 Speedway dirt track modified champion. The field include: Defending track champion Shawn Kilgore of New Franken, 2012 feature winner Johnny “Hitman” Whitman of De Pere, De Pere’s Jay Matthias, 2013 feature winner Benji LaCrosse of Green Bay, 5th place in points Todd “Felix” Dart of Algoma, 2013 feature winner Kyle Kudick of Two Rivers, 7th place in points Jeremy Jacobs of Luxemburg, 8th in points Kyle Lentz of Green Bay, 9th in points Eric Van Iten of Green Bay and 10th in points Jamie Schmidt of Seymour.
Other qualifiers include 2013 feature winner Brian Mullen of Seymour, 2010 track champion and 2013 feature winner Jared Siefert of Luxemburg and 2011 track champion Sean Jerovetz of Sobieski. A 14th qualifier is possible as the feature winner of the IMCA modified feature June 15 will be added if that driver is not already in the “Lucky 13” listed here.
Drivers in the “Big Cash Dash” will draw frisbees with numbers on them prior to the national anthem Saturday night. The Big Cash Dash will be the last race run of the night Saturday. Should there be a rainout on June 15, the “Big Cash Dash” will be run on Saturday, June 22. Racing gets underway at 6 p.m. The race winner may choose to qualify into the $10,000 show through regular qualifiers either Wednesday or Thursday to attempt to better their starting position, but they would have the provisional to fall back on. Should they qualify in, the second place Dash finisher would be awarded the 141 Speedway track provisional. If the second place finisher also qualifies in the third place finisher would get the provisional and so on and so forth down the line.
As of June 10 55 drivers from Wisconsin, Iowa and North Carolina were already pre-entered for the largest paying modified event in northeast Wisconsin history.
