CORN ROAST, FREE BEER, POWDER PUFF RACES 141 SPEEDWAY AUGUST 17
(Francis Creek, WI) Aug. 14 – It will be the Ladies turn to shine at 141 Speedway Saturday, August 17 as Powder Puff races will be an added attraction at the high-banked, third-mile, clay oval during Fan appreciation night sponsored by Scott’s Vending.
A corn roast and free tap beer will be served after the races.
Women will be allowed to race in all six of the tracks regular divisions Saturday. The Powder Puff races will take place following the regular racing program. Ladies must be signed up by 6 p.m. and must purchase a pit pass.
Just two points nights of racing remain on the 2013 schedule as a total of 332 drivers have competed in weekly racing at 141 Speedway in 2013. Defending IMCA stock car champion John Heinz of Green Bay has a tight points chase, as Oconto drivers Dustin Loberger and Scott Stewart sit 7 and 12 points behind the points leader, respectively. 57 different IMCA stock cars have accumulated points so far this year.
Abrams Mike Montie currently holds the closest points lead of all divisions. The sport four driver holds a slim one point edge over Pulaski’s Jeff Brehmer. 44 different sport four drivers have earned points in 2013.
“The Whitelaw Weapon” Kevin Naidl is just two weeks away from earning his first Brian Peterson Builders Grand National crown. Naidl leads Manitowoc’s Shawn Schmitt by 15 points in a class that to date has seen 41 drivers battle in weekly action this year.
Second year Tisler Salvage street stock driver Paul Diefenthaler leads defending track champion Kraig Koehler of Francis Creek by 33 points. 62 different street stocks have sampled 141 Speedway in weekly action this year.
A pair of defending track champions are both in the drivers seats, eyeing up repeat titles in their respective classes. New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore holds a comfortable 34 point margin over Green Bay’s Jay Matthias in the Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds while Suamico’s Josh Long has a 29 point edge over Pulaski’s JJ Anderson in the Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods.
To date 68 different modified drivers have raced for points at 141 while 60 sportmods have competed in weekly action in 2013.
