ALGOMA’S DART NAILS DOWN STARTING SPOT IN 141 SPEEDWAY $10,000-TO-WIN CLASH @ CREEK V
(Francis Creek, WI) June 23 – Todd “Felix” Dart of Algoma can breathe a little bit easier this week.
The Algoma IMCA modified veteran can sleep well all week long, knowing he’s already in the “Big Show” – the $10,000-to-win Clash at the Creek V at 141 Speedway June 26-27. The multi-time Thunder Hill Raceway champion secured the 141 Speedway provisional by winning the “Big Cash Dash” provisional race June 22 at 141.
Dart earned his way into provisional race by being in the top ten in the track’s weekly points heading into June 22. Dart will still have a decision to make, though. Dart can elect to race his way into the Clash on both Wednesday and Thursday, and try to improve upon his starting spot. Or, he can opt to “play it safe” and start 23rd on the grid for the 50 lap feature. In any case, he’s got the provisional to fall back on.
Should Dart qualify in Wednesday or Thursday, the 141 provisional would then be awarded to the second place Big Cash Dash qualifier Jay “Big Money” Matthias of De Pere. If both of those drivers qualify in, 3rd place Dash finisher Eric Van Iten would get the track provisional and so on down the line.
A full modified program will take place Wednesday and Thursday nights. The top seven finishers in Wednesday nights main event will be locked into the big show on Thursday. .
Nearly 60 drivers from three states are already pre entered into the big show, with many more out-of-state entrants expected to “pop in” as early as Tuesday night, where there will be a practice session starting at 3 p.m. and running until dusk. The practice session is free to race fans.
The debut of the Iron Horse Sales & Service Badger Stock Tour presented by Kick Ass Drive Train & Iron Horse Recycling will take place on Thursday night as well, with a field of more than 40 of the states top drivers expected. Free camping is being offered to fans and teams on a first come, first served basis. A massive fireworks display Thursday will cap off the two day event.
Adult admission prices for the two day Clash for ages 15 and up will be $20.00 for Wednesday, $25.00 for Thursday and a $40.00, two day pass being offered. For students ages 7-14 prices will be $15.00 Wednesday, $20.00 Thursday and a $30.00 two day pass. Ages 6 and under are free with a paid adult both days. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. both nights.
