141 SPEEDWAY TO GIVEAWAY MODIFIED, STOCK CAR & STREET STOCK MOTORS IN 2012
(MANITOWOC MOTOR & MACHINING AND 141 TEAM UP IN $22,500 WORTH OF POWERPLANTS)
(Francis Creek, WI) February 6 – Three motors valued at $22,500 will be given away to modified, stock car and street stock division drivers, respectively, at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek in late August this year.
One lucky driver in each of the three classes, who competes in 75 percent or more of the weekly races, will have a shot at the powerplants, which are sponsored by 141 Speedway and Manitowoc Motor and Machining.
In addition, division drivers who earn 100 percent attendance racing their cars all year in each division will receive a mulligan – an extra chip in the drawing bag when the motors are awarded in late August.
Last season, Denmark’s RM Van Pay and Pensaukee’s Jerry Leary were the winners of the modified and stock car motors, respectively. “We got some great feedback from the drivers and we’ve decided to add the street stocks into the mix as well this year,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “It’s our way of thanking the drivers who support our show each and every week. Without them, it would not be possible.”
Race ready, complete 383 cubic inch engines will be given away in the modified and stock car classes. A 355 cubic inch motor will be doled out in the street stock division.
Last month the track announced it was also giving away a race ready IMCA northern sportmod (minus the motor and transmission) valued at nearly $15,000. More than $37,000 worth of race cars and motors will be given away in the four divisions at 141 this year. “We’re not done yet, as we haven’t forgotten about the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals either,” said Conard. “We hope to have something announced with that class in the very near future.”
The 2012 season kicks off Saturday, April 14. An open practice session is slated to take place Saturday, April 7.
