141 SPEEDWAY PREPS FOR ROUND II OF WDLMA LATE MODELS JULY 14 / “NORTH VERSUS SOUTH” CIVIL WAR GRUDGE MATCH ALSO SLATED

(Francis Creek, WI) June 30 — 141 Speedway in Francis Creek is ready to host the second appearance of the Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association late models (WDLMA) Wednesday, July 14 on TA Motorsports/4 Seasons Lawn Care night.

It will be the second appearance of the season for the WDLMA late models at Wisconsin’s newest dirt track, following the largest crowd of the year June 16 when Waukesha’s Rick Scheffler bested the field of 28 late models. “We thought for our first appearance the staff there treated us great and the facilities are top notch,” said WDLMA president Bill Behling.

The night will be highlighted by a 25 lap feature, which pays $1,200 to win. In addition, a special “Civil War” 10 lap grudge race will take place, featuring the racing family Scheffler’s versus the Anvelink’s. The Scheffler brothers Russ and Rick will racetheir WDLMA cars against the father-son team of Terry and Nick Anvelink. “Between those four drivers I’m guessing there are probably 25 track championships and who knows how many feature wins,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “The late models were a big hit in June and we’re expecting over 30 cars for the show coming up on July 14.”

The special grudge race is sponsored by Behling Circle Track Equipment of Butler and B & B Race Engines of Appleton.

Not to be overlooked are the track’s weekly classes, which will be IMCA modifieds, northern sportmods, stock cars and sport fours which will compete in a full program. The pit area opens at 4 p.m. The spectator gates open at 5 p.m. The first green flag flies at 7 p.m.
