141 SPEEDWAY PREPS FOR 3RD ANNUAL CREEK CLASSIC OCTOBER 5 AND 6
(Francis Creek, WI) Sept. 12 – Perhaps its the mouth watering ribeye steak sandwich. Or maybe the super nachos plate.
Or it could be the camraderie with family and friends after a long racing season. Or the live music both nights.
Did we mention the exciting wheel-to-wheel racing in 10 divisions? At any rate, there are plenty of reasons to draw fans and drivers to the 3rd annual Creek Classic presented by Northern Concrete at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Friday and Saturday October 5 and 6.
Camping for fans and drivers is free, and the toter homes, pop up campers and race car haulers begin rolling in off of I 43 as early as Wednesday as folks get geared up for the biggest season ending bash to wrap up the 2012 racing season in northeast Wisconsin. “Last year we had 308 cars come and race with us during the this deal,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “We learned a lot from running it the last two years and are constantly tweaking things to make it even better for this year for both the fans and drivers alike.”
Action kicks off Friday night, with the Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design &Directional Drilling Services hosting it’s season finale. A full BMT program will be run Friday night, including heats, B mains and the A main. The last time the BMT ran at 141 was for the Clash @ Creek IV June 27 when Middleton, Wisconsin’s Tim “The Beave” Lemirande wound up victorious. 58 BMT mods competed that night, and 95 different drivers in four states have competed in the Tour’s six shows so far this year.
Heat races will also be run Friday night in the stock car, Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, Tisler Salvage street stocks, sportmods, hobby stocks, sport fours and 600 micro sprints.
On Saturday a full modified program featuring heats, B mains and the A main will take place running 141 Speedway’s weekly track rules. Last chance qualifiers and A mains will be run in the above mentioned classes. The Jr. sprints will also make their appearance of the weekend on Saturday.
1st Choice Auto of Green Bay is awarding a $100 long haul award to the driver in any division who tows the furthest to compete. They are also sponsoring a $100 hard luck award as well.
On Friday night live entertainment will be provided by Diamond & Steel. Saturday night the regionally popular band Annex will entertain fans after the races. The Victory Lane sports bar opens for business Wednesday night, with the pit area opening Thursday at 4 p.m. Racing begins at 6 p.m. Friday and at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Breakfast will be served Saturday morning at the main food stand with seating available in the bar.
