141 SPEEDWAY HOLDS SHAKEDOWN SESSION SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
(Practice session open to cars to prep for Creek Classic October 5 & 6)
(Francis Creek, WI) September 25 – A practice session open to any and all drivers is slated to take place at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday, September 29 from 1 p.m. til dusk.
The shakedown will be the final practice session for teams as they get ready for the 3rd annual Northern Concrete Creek Classic Friday October 5 and Saturday October 6 at 141 Speedway. The cost for a pit pass for Saturday’s practice will be $20 for the car, driver and pit crew.
“With no other track running locally in the area that weekend we want to give teams one more crack and getting some laps in before our big two day special,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. Spectator admission for the practice session will be free to the public.
The Victory Lane Pub will be open and concessions will be available. Saturday will also be the first crack fans will get to purchase the 2012 edition of the Creek Classic hoodies, which will be on sale inside the Victory Lane Pub.
Action kicks off Friday night, with the Custom Windows Plus Badger Mod Tour presented by Floors By Design &Directional Drilling Services hosting it’s season finale. A full BMT program will be run Friday night, including heats, B mains and the A main. The last time the BMT ran at 141 was for the Clash @ Creek IV June 27 when Middleton, Wisconsin’s Lemirande wound up victorious. 58 BMT mods competed that night, and 95 different drivers in four states have competed in the Tour’s six shows so far this year.
Heat races will also be run Friday night in the stock car, Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, Tisler Salvage street stocks, sportmods, hobby stocks, sport fours and 600 micro sprints.
On Saturday a full modified program featuring heats, B mains and the A main will take place running 141 Speedway’s weekly track rules. Last chance qualifiers and A mains will be run in the above mentioned classes. The Jr. sprints will also make their appearance of the weekend on Saturday.
1st Choice Auto of Green Bay is awarding a $100 long haul award to the driver in any division who tows the furthest to compete. They are also sponsoring a $100 hard luck award as well.
On Friday night live entertainment will be provided by Diamond & Steel. Saturday night the regionally popular band Annex will entertain fans after the races. The Victory Lane sports bar opens for business Wednesday night, with the pit area opening Thursday at 4 p.m. Racing begins at 6 p.m. Friday and at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Breakfast will be served Saturday morning at the main food stand with seating available in the bar.
