141 SPEEDWAY ACQUIRES LAND AND 80 MORE PIT STALLS
(additional space will be ready just in time for Creek Classic Oct. 7 & 8)
(Francis Creek, WI) September 18 — Pit parking won’t be cramped at 141 Speedway any longer.
That’s because track promoter Bruce Conard announced today that he has purchased a little more than an acre of land adjacent to the track on the southeast corner of the property. The land, formerly owned by former track promoter Merle Armstrong, will result in an 80 additional pit stalls — much needed space for Wisconsin’s newest dirt track.
“Merle has lived there for more than 30 years and he has been great to work with on this whole deal,” said Conard. “The land gives us more pit parking for our weekly Saturday nights races, and we’ll also be able to use this for our Creek Classic on October 7 and 8.”
A total of 330 different drivers raced at 141 Speedway weekly in 2011. The division with the highest car counts were the street stocks with 64. Sport fours had 57 drivers, Stock cars had 56 drivers, Modifieds 55 and Sportmods 54. Brian Peterson Grand Nationals had 44 different drivers.
Running a Wednesday night program in 2010 the track averaged 85 cars. With the move to Saturday nights in 2011, weekly car counts average was 107 nightly, up 22 cars.
Eight divisions of racing will take place on Friday and Saturday October 7 and 8. In action will be the track’s weekly, Saturday night headlining class the Modifieds. Late Models will also be in action, along with Grand Nationals, Stock Cars, Sportmods, Street stocks, Hobby stocks and Sport 4′s.
