($500 bounty to anyone who can beat Gregg Haese in Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals)
(Francis Creek, WI) May 21 – The fastest machines on dirt in the Midwest, the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint car series, will invade 141 Speedway’s high-banked, third mile clay oval Sunday May 26 at 6 p.m.

Last year Fredonia’s Mike Kertscher clocked the first sub-eleven second lap with a 10.750. Kertscher also won at 141 last year, with IRA champion Billy Balog capturing A main events as well. Teams from well over eight hours away have indicated they’ll be competing at 141, including a handful of Illinois-based teams, including Springfield, Illinois’ Jordan Goldesberry. The winged machines pack close to 900 horsepower under the hood.

In addition, a $500 bounty is on the line for any Brian Peterson Builders Grand National driver who can beat Francis Creek’s Gregg Haese. Haese has won back-to-back features at 141. Haese must be running competitively at the end of the race for a driver to collect the bonus cash. A draw-redraw format will be used for both the Grand Nationals and the Tisler Salvage street stocks, which will also pay $500 to the winner in a non-points night. The Grand Nationals will be a non-points night as well.

The Haese bounty is sponsored by Bill’s Auto of Manitowoc, Country Visions Co-Op in Reedsville, Performance Motorsports of Whitelaw and Track Wizard Merle Lisowe.

Gates open at 4 pm with action on the track getting underway at 6 p.m. Adult admission is $20 while students 8-11 yrs $5 and 7yrs and under free. You can check 141speedway.com for more information, or follow us on both Facebook and Twitter. The track phone is (920) 863 3377. For more information on the IRA Outlaw Sprints check out the tour website at irasprints.com or logging onto the series Facebook page. There will be no racing at 141 on Saturday, May 25.

(Francis Creek, WI) May 18– Benji Lacrosse of Green Bay steals the lead late in the race and goes on to capture the IMCA modified feature at 141 Speedway Saturday night. Lacrosse starts thirteenth but charges up to the front and pulls away with the lead after a late race restart over Shawn Kilgore of New Franken who came home second with Jay Mathias of Green Bay in third. Jeremy Jacobs of Luxemburg comes up in fourth and Randy Markwardt of Sheboygan Falls takes fifth. It was a very close battle between all the top five cars that mixed it up lap after lap until the checkered flag was thrown.

By virtue of his win, Benji Lacrosse earned a starting spot in the “Big Cash Dash” $10,000-to-win Clash @ Creek V provisional qualifying event on Saturday, June 15.

A total of 112 cars checked in to compete, including 20 Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds, 9 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 24 IMCA stock cars, 28 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 21 Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and 10 sport fours.

In the IMCA stock car division Green Bay driver John Heinz wins the battle for the lead on lap 12 and captures his second feature win of the year at 141 speedway. Whitelaw’s Logan Rhode picks up his best finish this year in second with Oconto’s Scott Stewart in third and Pulaski’s Mike Coel in fourth along with Tyler Smith of Luxemburg rounding out the top five.

In the Hansel Trucking sport mods Josh Long of Suamico wins the three car battle for the lead at the half way point over second place finisher JJ Anderson of Pulaski and third place finisher Andy Kleczka of Suamico. Kleczka and Anderson battled in the beginning for the lead but then battled for the second spot the rest of the race after long grabs the lead. Oconto’s Travis Cain places fourth with long time driver Brian Reif of Mishicot finishing fifth.

Greg Haese of Manitowoc puts on schooling over the 9 car field and picks up back to back feature wins in the Brian Peterson Grand Nationals. By winning this race Hease will pad his points lead over the second place finisher Shawn Schmitt of Manitowoc. Chad Ninmer of Cleveland picks up third with Kevin Naidl of Reedsville in fourth and Jo Gauger of Two Rivers picking up her best finish this year in fifth.

In the Tisler Salvage Street Stocks Jerry Kope of Oshkosh takes the lead away from veteran driver Dan Gracyanly of Greenville on lap 13 and goes on to capture his second feature win in a row. Jerry Winkler of Oshkosh grabs the second place spot from Gracyanly who comes up in third with Jason Behnke of Brillion in fourth and point’s leader Paul Deifenthaler of Manitowoc in fifth.

Brian Johnson picks up the clean sweep in the sport four division in his back up race car. Mike Montie comes up second with Jeff Brehmer in third.

There will be no racing next Saturday May 25 at 141 Speedway. But on Sunday night the track will host the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint cars. The fastest machines on dirt will come to 141 and will be joined by the Grand Nationals and sport fours. Last year Fredonia’s Mike Kertscher clocked the first ever 10 second lap on the high-banked, third-mile clay oval with a lap of 10.750 on May 27.

(Francis Creek, WI) May 14 – Kanawha, Iowa’s Ryan Ruter says his visit to 141 Speedway June 26-27 will be just another “business trip.”

Ruter, who’s car number is 555, who has several $3,000 and $4,000 victories on the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), was the first out-of-state entry last month for the $10,000-to-win Clash At The Creek V at the high-banked, third-mile clay oval.

The builder of Sidebiter chassis, Ruter has throttled his racing back a bit in 2013. “We’re just staying a bit closer to home this year is all,” said Ruter, who’s competed a half dozen times this year at Iowa tracks in Webster City, Algona, Mason City and Fairmont, Minnesota. “We’re doing mostly the IMCA style stuff this year. When you travel the fuel costs can be brutal.”

The last time Ruter was in northeast Wisconsin was the mid 2000’s when the USMTS still ran specials at Luxemburg Speedway and Thunder Hill Raceway. “What I remember about going up there is we loaded the hauler up with t shirts and after those two dates we sold out of all of them,” said Ruter. “I’m guessing we must have a lot of fans up there or something.”

Ruter has never been to 141 Speedway. “I did watch a couple of clips on Youtube that one of the Green Bay TV stations put on of 141,” said Ruter. “That place looks pretty cool. The clip I saw it slicked up pretty good. To me, the slicker the better. It takes the motor right out of the deal. It’s easier on equipment, too.”

Ruter comes from a farming family, but in recent years building and servicing Sidebiter chassis customers has put food on the table. “I help my Dad out once in awhile on the farm, but it’s pretty much racing full time,” said Ruter. “We’re either racing, building cars or fixing stuff. I’d like to get our name back up in Wisconsin. We need more of a presence up there.”

To learn more about Sidebiter chassis check ruterracing.com. You can follow them on Facebook or by calling 641 762 3733. You can check 141speedway.com for more information. The track phone is 920 863 3377. You can also follow 141 Speedway on both Facebook and Twitter.

(Francis Creek, WI) May 11 – Luxemburg’s Jared Siefert lead from the drop of the green and led every lap to capture the IMCA modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday. The win was the 2010 IMCA modified track champion’s 8th career feature win at the third-mile clay oval since it was converted to dirt in 2010.

A total of 127 cars checked in to do battle. The field included 23 Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds, 10 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 27 IMCA stock cars, 23 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 29 Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and 15 sport fours.

Siefert, who started on the pole position, had a close call when rookie TJ Smith’s racer stalled on the track. That forced Siefert to take evasive action and dive underneath Smith with Eric Iten slipping around Smith safely before the caution flew. Luxemburg’s Jeremy Jacobs stormed into second with two laps remaining and gave a late race charge but came out second at the pay window. Van Iten took third, followed by another former track champion Shawn Kilgore taking fourth. Jay Matthias of De Pere rounded out the top five finishers.

In the IMCA stock cars Oconto’s Dustin Loberger captured back to back feature wins, having won last week as well. By winning back to back weeks he now has padded his points lead over John Heinz of Green Bay who was side by side with Loberger on the last lap but comes up short in second. “High Side Hustler” Kyle Frederick comes up third with the “Wild Child” Tyler Smith of Luxemburg in fourth.

In the Hansel Trucking IMCA sport mods it was Suamico’s Andy Kleczka who put on a dominating performance in the feature and captures his first feature win this season at 141 Speedway. Defending track champion Josh Long of Suamico charges hard but comes up short in second with Oconto driver Travis Cain picking up his best feature finish in third and Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert in fourth.

Greg Haese of Manitowoc captures the feature win in the Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, by winning this feature he now will be the points leader of Don Sorce. Sean Mueller of Plymouth has his best feature finish in second with “Whitelaw Weapon” Kevin Naidl capturing third.

Jerry Kope of Oshkosh picks up a clean sweep in the Tisler Salvage street stock division. Shawn Hayden finishes second and Paul Deifenthaler in third, both drivers of Manitowoc.

Former track champion Ralph Legois Jr. of Oconto won the sport four feature.

Racing resumes next Saturday at 6 p.m. For more information please check 141speedway.com. You can also follow us on both Facebook and Twitter. The track phone is (920) 863 3377.

(Francis Creek, WI) May 7 – Brian Peterson Builders, the tracks weekly sponsor for the grand national division, will serve as the nightly sponsor for the racing action at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek May 11. Here’s a preview of what lies ahead at the high-banked, third-mile clay oval:

HANSEL TRUCKING IMCA MODIFIEDS – Seymour veteran Brian Mullen scored his third career feature win at 141 Saturday night. Mullen’s previous victories include a Clash at the Creek III win (2011) and the Fall Classic Badger Mod Tour win (2012).

Mullen fended off a hard charging Jay Matthias of De Pere in the closing laps to seal the deal. 2010 champion Jared Siefert blew a powerplant in his machine in the heat race, forcing him to scratch for the evening. De Pere’s Johnny Whitman and Green Bay’s Benji LaCrosse are tied for the points lead heading into Saturdays action.

IMCA STOCK CARS – For Oconto’s Dustin Loberger, the soaker was well worth it. Loberger scored the feature win in the class “too tough to tame” and promptly celebrated by taking a dip in the 141 Speedway pond. For Loberger, the whole deal was captured on live television on Sports Showdown My 32. The live television broadcast will resume this Saturday night as well, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. Loberger leads defending track champion John Heinz of Green Bay by 3 points. Look for the return of Manitowoc’s Logan Rhode this week in the 50 stock car.

BRIAN PETERSON BUILDERS GRAND NATIONALS – Defending track champion Don Sorce Jr. leads the division by four points over Manitowoc drivers Shawn Schmitt and Greg Haese, a former Mid Am Sportsman champion at 141 on the tar. Sorce’s teammate Charlie Sancinati sits fourth in points, 11 points out of first place.

HANSEL TRUCKING IMCA NORTHERN SPORTMODS – Points leader JJ Anderson of Pulaski has crossed the finish line second and third in both main events so far this year. Despite being docked two spots for jumping a restart in the main last Saturday, Anderson remains two points ahead of defending track champion Josh Long of Suamico.

TISLER SALVAGE STREET STOCKS – A surprising face sits atop the leaders in this fendered class, West Allis’ Mark Baker. The opening night feature winner holds a 2 point edge over Manitowoc’s Paul Diefenthaler, Brillion’s Jason Behnke and defending track champion Kraig Koehler, respectively. Baker intends to run 141 every week and
chase the division title.

SPORT FOURS – Defending track champion Brian Johnson of Oconto currently has an eight point lead over Abrams Mike Montie.

IF IT WERE HELD THIS WEEKEND – If the “Big Cash Dash” for Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds were held this Saturday instead of June 15, the 12 car field would consist of the following drivers: Whitman, LaCrosse, Shawn Kilgore (New Franken), James Tebon (Algoma), Russ Reinwald (Juneau), Todd Dart (Algoma), Matthias, Eric Scribner (Kiel), Tim Czarneski (Denmark), Jamie Schmidt (Seymour) Siefert and Sean Jerovetz (Sobieski). Mullen secured his spot by winning the feature, thwarting off a late race charge by Matthias in the waning laps. All IMCA mod feature winners leading up to June 15 qualify for the “Big Cash Dash” in which the winner will earn the 141 Speedway provisional to the $10,000-to-win Clash @ Creek V at 141 June 26-27. The balance of the field will comprise of the remaining drivers in the top ten in points

STROUF IS BACK – Former 141 asphalt track champion and track record holder Monte Strouf of Menchalville returned to action for the first time ever since the track was converted to dirt in 2010. Strouf won the Mid American Sportsman track title in 2007. His familiar red number 8 was dug out of the mothballs and a dirt track setup was thrown in. Joining Strouf in a return to 141 was “Dangerous Dale” Caron of Manitowoc in his familiar number 5 grand national.

CAR COUNTS – A total of 193 drivers have taken part in the racing action the first two nights. That number includes 45 IMCA modifieds, 33 IMCA stock cars, 39 IMCA northern sportmods, 22 grand nationals, 34 street stocks and 20 sport fours.

Racing gets underway at 6 p.m. For more information check 141speedway.com or follow the track on both Facebook and Twitter. The track phone is (920) 863 3377. For further information call (920) 905 1112. 141 Speedway is located 15 minutes south of Green Bay on County “R” in Francis Creek.

(Francis Creek, WI) April 28– De Pere’s Johnny Whitman has been awarded the Hansel Trucking IMCA modified feature that was run at 141 Speedway on April 27.

Whitman, who crossed the line second at the checkers, was awarded the victory following a post race inspection of first place finisher Marcus Yarie’s racecar. The inspection found Yarie’s car to be equipped with illegal spindles, thus disqualifying Yarie and awarding the win to Whitman.

A total of 147 cars checked in to do battle on night 1. The field included 36 Mike Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds, 12 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 28 IMCA stock cars, 24 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 30 Mike Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and 17 sport fours.

Defending track champion John Heinz of Green Bay picked up his first IMCA stock car feature win of the year. Dustin Loberger wins the battle for second place over Algoma’s Shawn Havel; Oconto’s Scott Stewart has a good finish in fourth with the “Wild Child” Tyler Smith of Luxemburg finishing in fifth.

Shawano driver Tracy Wassenberg jumps out to a big lead in the Hansel Trucking IMCA Sportmods but a caution on lap 11 would wipe that lead away. On the restart Wassenberg quickly stretches over the hard chasing JJ Anderson who comes home in second with Josh Long of Little Suamico third. Andy Kleczka picks up fourth and Cody Hudson rounding out the top five.

Mark Baker makes the long trip up from West Allis pay off by picking up the heat and feature win in the Tisler Salvage Street Stocks. Home town driver Kraig Koehler picks up second with Manitowoc’s Paul Deifenthaler in third.

Dan Sorce of West Allis picks up the clean sweep in the Brian Peterson Grand Nationals by capturing the checkered flag in the feature. Sorce lead from the drop of the green in the 15 lap feature with Shawn Schmitt of Manitowoc coming home in second. Don Sorce of West Allis ends up third with Manitowoc driver Greg Haese in fourth.

Abrams Mike Montie scored a clean sweep in the sport four division.

Racing resumes next Saturday night, May 4 beginning at 6 p.m. For more information please check 141speedway.com. You can also follow us on both Facebook and Twitter. The track phone is (920) 863 3377. For further information call (920) 905 1112. 141 Speedway is located 15 minutes south of Green Bay on County “R” in Francis Creek.

(IMCA MOD DRIVERS TO QUALIFY FOR $10,000-TO-WIN CLASH @ CREEK V)

(Francis Creek, WI) April 24 – The first of seven chances at a crack at a starting spot for a potential $10,000 payday kicks off at 141 Speedway’s season opener Saturday, April 27.

Drivers who win a Mike Hansel Trucking IMCA modified feature on a Saturday night at 141 will be eligible to run a special “Big Cash Dash” qualifier dash at the high-banked, third-mile, clay oval Saturday June 15.

The winner of the “Big Cash Dash” will be awarded the track provisional for the highest paying modified event in Wisconsin’s history at the Clash @ Creek V June 26-27.

Three former dirt track modified champions at 141 have already earned starting berths into the “Big Cash Dash” and include 2010 champion Jared Siefert of Green Bay, 2011 champion Sean Jerovetz of Sobieski and 2012 champion Shawn Kilgore of New Franken.

The balance of the “Big Cash Dash” field will be filled with any other modified drivers leftover who are in the top 10 in the track’s weekly points as of June 15. Eligible drivers will draw for their starting spots for the special event, which will be run in addition to the track’s weekly racing program.

With 141 Speedway being the only track in the eastern half of Wisconsin running IMCA style modifieds on April 27 a huge field of modifieds is expected for the opener, which drew a record 167 cars in 2012.

Should there be a rainout on June 15, the “Big Cash Dash” will be run on Saturday, June 22.

Joining the Mike Hansel Trucking IMCA modifieds on opening night will be the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, Tisler Salvage street stocks, IMCA stock cars, Mike Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods and sport fours will compete. Racing gets underway at 6 p.m.

To learn more check 141speedway.com and the track can also be followed at both Facebook and Twitter. The track phone is (920) 863 3377.
