(Francis Creek, WI) October 8 — Neosho’s Mitch McGrath scored a $2,400 payday at 141 Speedway’s Creek Classic Saturday. McGrath won both the Outlaw modified and weekly modified features, each paying $1,200 to win.

A total of 306 participants from three states took part in the nine class show. The field included 17 late models, 45 street stocks, 46 modifieds, 25 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 14 hobby stocks, 40 sportmods, 35 stock cars, 47 outlaw modifieds and 37 sport fours.

McGrath led all 30 laps en route to victory in the modified feature. McGrath carefully weaved through lapped cars and kept second place finisher Shawn Kilgore at bay for the win. Beaver Dam’s Craig Priewe earned the Victory Sign hard charger award, gaining nine spots by starting 20th and finishing 11th.

Cleveland’s Jim Schmidt captured the late model feature. Shawano’s Tom Naeyeart earned the Victory Signs hard charger award, gaining six spots finishing fifth.

Oconto Falls’ Kyle Frederick successfully defended his 2010 Creek Classic stock car championship, by winning the stock car main. Suamico’s Josh Long fought off defending track champion Troy Jerovetz of Green Bay to win the sportmod feature. Jerovetz, who qualified through a semi feature, earned the Victory Sign hard charger award, coming from 14th to second.

Bruce Crossing, Michigan’s Jordan Kurtti made the five hour trip from the Upper Peninsula worthwhile. The TNT Speedway (Three Lakes) track champion dodged several caution periods to collect the street stock feature.

Wind Lake visitor Roger Lee emerged triumphant in the Brian Peterson Grand National feature. Denmark’s Tom Brumlic won the hobby stock feature. Clintonville’s Calvin Stueck captured the sport four feature.

S & B Trailer Sales of Suamico and Wisconsin Custom Machine & Tool also provided contingency awards to the drivers.

(Francis Creek, WI) August 27 — Driving a race car he built from scratch, De Pere veteran Dean Maurer fought off Seymour’s Jamie Schmidt to win the Modified feature on Larry’s Distributing Budweiser night at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday. Maurer also won his heat, netting a sweep for the evening.

Champions were crowned in all six divisions. Sobieski’s Sean Jerovetz captured his first career Modified track championship. Pulaski’s Junior Karcz won the Stock car title, while Menasha’s TJ Smith successfully defended his Brian Peterson Grand National title. Greenville veteran Danny Gracyalny won the street stock title. Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz won the Sportmod title while Oconto’s Ralph Liegois Jr. won the Sport four crown.

A total of 114 drivers turned out to race before the largest weekly crowd of the year, including 23 Modifieds, 17 Stock Cars, 18 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 21 Sportmods, 20 Street stocks and 15 Sport fours.

“The Whitelaw Weapon” Kevin Naidl battled Manitowoc rookie Shawn Schmitt at the checkers to collect his second Brian Peterson Builders Grand National feature.

Luxemburg rookie Chad Kaminski netted an $850 payday with his victory in the Sportmod feature. A bulk of Kaminski’s bonus bucks came from his sponsors and fans. Luxemburg’s Dave De Grave netted his first Stock car feature of the season while Krakow’s Bob Czarapata wheeled a 12 year old street stock into victory lane, winning the street stock feature.

Oconto Falls Brian Johnson swept action in the sport four action, winning his heat and the feature.

The $100 Manitowoc Motor and Machining product gift certificate was awarded to Tim Mueller of New Holstein by virtue of his 13th place finish in the street stock feature.

There will be no racing on Saturday, September 3. The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprints will be in action on Sunday, September 4. (Francis Creek, WI) August 20 – Mishicot’s Kyle Kudick fought off Green Bay’s “Crocodile Kyle” Lentz down to the wire to win the Modified feature on Floors By Design night at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday.

A total of 122 drivers turned out to race before the largest weekly crowd of the year, including 22 Modifieds, 23 Stock Cars, 16 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 21 Sportmods, 24 Street stocks and 16 Sport fours.

Kudick dogged early starter Michelle Loy of Forest Junction for the first five laps, passing Loy on a lap seven restart. Lentz, who started in the third row, hugged the bottom groove and pulled alongside of Kudick on more than one occasion. Kudick’s Ford powered GRT was no match for Lentz, who settled for second at the pay window. Denmark’s RM Van Pay took third, followed by Sobieski’s Sean Jerovetz and Sheboygan Falls Randy Markwardt.

Winneconne’s Tim Doehling captured his first ever Brian Peterson Builders Grand National feature. Brillion’s Ben Stumpf, Menasha’s TJ Smith, Tom Schneider of Chilton and Alex Stumpf of Brillion rounded out the top five finishers.

Hortonville’s Justin Jacobsen captured his first Stock car feature, leading wire-to-wire and fighting off Greenleaf’s Jesse Colwell in the final laps to score the win. Colwell settled for second, followed by Green Bay’s Rick Dix, Pulaski’s Junior Karcz and Whitelaw’s Mike Conard.

Suamico’s Josh Long won the Sportmod feature. Rookie Jessi Ness of Abrams posted her best finish of the year with second. Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert took third, followed by Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and Pulaski’s JJ Anderson.

Greenville’s Danny Gracyalny padded his points lead with a feature win. Oconto’s Ralph Liegois Jr. crossed the line first in the sport four feature but was disqualified after a post race inspection discovered an illegal flywheel. That handed the win to Green Bay’s Matt Kaye.

Van Pay won the $7,500 Modified motor donated by 141 Speedway and Manitowoc Motor and Machining. Pensaukee’s Jerry Leary won the Stock car motor valued at $4,500.

Wildwood brakes/Behling Circle track hard charger awards went to Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert and Van Pay. Bruechert charged from 11th to third in the Sportmod main while Van Pay sliced through the field from 22nd to 3rd. Green Bay’s Eddie Muenster won the $100 Manitowoc Motor and Machining product gift certificate by virtue of his seventh place Modified feature finish.

(Francis Creek, WI) August 13 – Neosho’s Mitch McGrath passed Seymour’s Jamie Schmidt on lap four and carefully danced through lapped cars to win the Modified feature on Smet Construction night at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday.

A 125 total of drivers turned out to race, including 20 Modifieds, 19 Stock Cars, 20 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 20 Sportmods, 29 Street stocks and 18 Sport fours.

McGrath started fourth on the grid, and used the high groove to motor around Schmidt on the high groove. McGrath had built up a near full straightaway lead and with five laps to go, McGrath skillfully weaved his way through lapped cars to collect his second win of the year here. Schmidt took home second place money, followed by Mishicot’s Kyle Kudick, Green Bay’s Kyle Lentz and Sobieski’s Sean Jerovetz.

Manitowoc’s Logan Rhode captured his third Brian Peterson Builders Grand National feature win. Rhode swapped the lead for much of the contest with Two Rivers Dave Gauger Jr. Rhode assumed command of the lead with five laps to go and never looked back. Winneconne’s Tim Doehling took second, followed by defending track champion TJ Smith of Menasha, Brillion’s Alex Stumpf and Whitelaw’s Kevin Naidl.

Greenleaf’s Jesse Colwell captured his second straight Stock Car feature, fending off brother Jamie Cowell at the checkers. Green Bay’s Rick Dix posted his best finish of the year with a third, followed by Luxemburg’s Tyler Derenne and Mike Gilson of Greenleaf.

Francis Creek’s Kraig Koehler picked up the street stock feature win. Greenville’s Shawn Hayden took second, followed by Stockbridge’s Adam Broehm, Mayville’s Trevor Schmidt and Greenville’s Danny Gracyalny. Gracyalny padded his points lead and did the hard way, pitting twice during the caution filled race.

Abram’s Scooter Boyea passed Abram’s rookie Jessi Ness on lap eight and went on to win his first Sportmod feature of the year. Suamico’s Josh Long took second, followed by Oconto’s Rob Charapada, Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and Suamico’s Brandon Long.

Two Rivers Brandon Tegen beat out points leader Ralph Liegois Jr. of Oconto by mere inches in a photo finish to win his first sport four feature of the year.

The Manitowoc Motor Machining $100 product gift certificate was awarded to Jerry Winkler by virtue of his 7th place finish in the Street Stock feature. Troy Jerovetz won the hard charger award in the sportmod feature by charging from 18th to finish 4th. Luxemburg’s Siefert won the hard charger award in the Modifieds moving from 15th to 7th. Both drivers earned a set of Wildwood Brake Pads through Behling Circle Track Equipment in Butler.

Racing action continues next Saturday night August 20 at 6 p.m. on Floors By Design Night. (Francis Creek, WI) August 6 — Mishicot’s Kyle Kudick fought off De Pere’s Johnny Whitman in the final laps to win the 20 lap Modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday night. The race was called after 10 laps to to a thunderstorm that pelted the track with rain.

A total of 101 drivers turned out to race, including 16 Modifieds, 18 Stock Cars, 16 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 17 Sportmods, 21 Street stocks and 13 Sport fours.

Kudick jumped into the lead at the drop of the green from his outside front row starting spot and never relinquished the lead. Whitman sliced his way through the field from seventh to second in four short laps.

Whitman pulled alongside of Kudick twice in the final two laps but Mother Nature had the final say as the race was called at the halfway point. Kudick won the race. Whitman took second, followed by Jamie Schmidt of Seymour, Mitch McGrath of Neosho and Green Bay’s Eddie Muenster.

Greenleaf’s Jesse Colwell beat his brother Jamie Colwell to the line to win the stock car feature. Jerry Leary of Pensaukee took third. Pulaski’s Junior Karcz took fourth with Greenleaf’s Mike Gilson rounding out the top five finishers.

Chilton’s Tom Schneider won his first career Brian Peterson Builders Grand National feature, beating defending track champion TJ Smith of Menasha to the line. Smith took second, followed by Manitowoc’s Kevin Damrow, Chilton’s Steve Schneider and Crivitz’s Mike Kudick. Schneider charged through the field from last to fourth after being involved in a caution earlier in the event.

Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik collected his first Sportmod feature win of the season, fending off a late race surge from Suamico’s Josh Long for the victory. Suamico’s Andy Kleczka took third. Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and Abrams’ Scooter Boyea took fourth and fifth, respectively.

Greenville’s Danny Gracyalny padded his points lead with another street stock feature win. Hometown driver Kraig Koehler took second, followed by Stockbridge’s Adam Broehm, Brillion’s Randy Rahn and Manitowoc’s Ray Fuller.

Oconto’s Ralph Liegois Jr. won the sport four feature.

The Manitowoc Motor Machining $100 product gift certificate was awarded to Brett Wenzel of Manitowoc by virtue of his 10th place finish in the Grand National feature. (Francis Creek, WI) July 30 – Sobieski’s Sean Jerovetz passed RM Van Pay for the lead on lap 12 and fought his way through lapped cars and pressure from De Pere’s Johnny Whitman to win the caution free 20 lap Modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday night.

A total of 113 drivers turned out to race, including 19 Modifieds, 20 Stock Cars, 14 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 17 Sportmods, 25 Street stocks and 18 Sport fours.

Green Bay’s Art Siefert paced the opening two circuits of the Mod feature before Van Pay wrestled the lead away on lap three. Jerovetz, who started eighth, crept his way up into second by lap nine and began tracking down Van Pay.

The pair went side by side for the next several laps, trading the lead with Jerovetz pulling away with five laps to go. Jerovetz weaved through lapped cars in the final laps to collect his second feature flag here of the season, and padding his points lead in the process.

Brillion’s Ben Stumpf dodged several caution periods and fought off points leader Steve Schneider of Chilton to win his second Brian Peterson Builders Grand National feature. Chilton’s Tom Schneider, Brillion’s Alex Stumpf and defending track champion TJ Smith of Menasha rounded out the top five finishers.

It was a Colwell brothers sweep in the stock car class, as Jamie bested brother Jesse in the feature. The duo threaded their way through lapped cars. Last week’s winner Tyler Smith of Luxemburg took third, followed by points leader Junior Karcz of Pulaski and Green Bay’s Jeremy Wiitala, who made his first appearance of the season.

Suamico’s Brandon Long fended off Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and several caution periods to win the crash marred sportmods feature. Jerovetz settled for second at the pay window. Long’s brother Josh Long took third, followed by Suamico’s Andy Kleczka and Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik.

Brillion’s Ryan Brandes carefully dodged lapped cars and outdueled points leader Danny Gracyalny of Greenville to win the street stock feature. Gracyalny took second, followed by Greenville’s Shawn Haydon, Stockbridge’s Adam Broehm and Sheboygan Falls Josh MacDonald.

Chilton’s Shawn Bangart captured his first career sport four feature. His teammate Brandon Goeser of Chilton took second, followed by Two Rivers Brandon Tegen, Plymouth’s Zack Dickie and Freedom’s Calvin Stueck placing third through fifth, respectively.

The Manitowoc Motor Machining $100 product gift certificate was awarded to Suamico’s Tyler DeBouche by virtue of his eighth place finish in the Stock car feature. Seymour’s Jamie Schmidt won the Modified hard charger award. Schmidt gained 12 spots having started 19th and winding up 7th in the Mod feature. Jesse Brey of Two Rivers captured the Sportmod hard luck award. Brey wound up 15th after getting caught up in cautions earlier in the race. Both drivers earned a set of AP Brake Pads through Behling Circle Track Equipment in Butler.

(Francis Creek, WI) July 23 — Neosho’s Mitch McGrath fought off Green Bay’s Kyle Lentz all race long, leading every lap en route to victory in the Mike Hansel Trucking Modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday night. The win was worth $1,600.

A total of 106 drivers turned out to race, including 16 Modifieds, 23 Stock Cars, 17 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 18 Sportmods, 18 Street stocks and 14 Sport fours.

McGrath sprinted into the lead from his front row starting spot at the drop of the green. Lentz shot from his row three spot into second by lap seven. De Pere’s Johnny Whitman joined the duo and the trio mixed it up until lap 14 for a Michelle Loy spin. With the field tightened up McGrath maintained the lead, with Lentz keeping the second spot. McGrath hung on for the win, with Lentz running second. RM Van Pay of Denmark battled past Whitman to take third. Whitman got fourth with Green Bay’s Eddie Muenster rounding out the top five.

Chilton’s Steve Schneider regained the points lead in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals by winning the feature. Whitelaw’s Kevin Naidl took runnerup honors, followed by Manitowoc’s Mike Bastian, Menasha’s TJ Smith who charged from 14th, and Brillion’s Ben Stumpf.

Luxemburg’s Tyler Smith came out on top of a race long duel with Greenleaf’s Jamie Colwell to win the Stock car main. Jamie took second with brother Jesse Colwell finishing third. It was the second straight week the Colwell brothers finished second and third. Shiocton’s Barry Van Straten took fourth with points leader Junior Karcz finishing fifth after pitting after a lap one caution.

New Franken’s Mark Joski passed Green Bay’s Dylan Heilmann for the lead on lap 16 and went on to win the Sportmod feature. Suamico’s Josh Long placed second, followed by Abrams Scooter Boyea, Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and Heilmann.

Oconto Falls Brian Johnson swept action in the sport four class, winning his heat and the feature.

Contingency awards winners included Jared Siefert of Green Bay. The defending track champion had a top five race going and wound up a DNF in the modified feature. He wins a set of AP Brake Pads courtesy of Behling Circle Track Equipment of Butler.

In the sportmods Jerovetz won the AP Brake Pads/Behling Circle Track Equipment Hard Charger award. Jerovetz charged from 10th to fourth in the feature, gaining six spots.

The Manitowoc Motor Machining $100 product gift certificate was awarded to Alex Stumpf of Brillion, by virtue of his seventh place Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals.

(Francis Creek, WI) July 16 — Seymour’s Jamie Schmidt passed De Pere’s Johnny Whitman on the final lap to win the 20 lap Modified feature at 141 Speedway Saturday. The win was Schmidt’s second in two days as he picked up to feature win Friday night at Oshkosh Speedzone.

In stock car action Oconto Falls Jon Courchaine picked a big night to win his first career stock car feature. The owner of Custom Windows Plus drove around the brothers Jamie and Jesse Colwell to take the lead on his sponsored night.

A total of 103 drivers turned out to race, including 17 Modifieds, 29 Stock Cars, 13 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 21 Sportmods, 13 Street stocks and Sport fours.

While the Modified feature went green-to-checkered it was filled with thrills right down to the wire. Schmidt had the early lead but Whitman whisked past Schmidt for the lead on lap 16. The duo battled through lapped cars the final four circuits. As the checkers flew, Schmidt scampered past Whitman at the line for the win. Whitman hung on for second, followed by Green Bay’s Eric Van Iten, Green Bay’s Kyle Lentz and Green Bay’s Eddie Muenster, who retook the points lead.

Van Iten was awarded the Behling Circle Track/AP Brake hard charger award coming from 10th to third on the final circuit.

New Franken’s Mark Joski led wire-to-wire, winning a caution filled Sportmod feature, his second of the year. Kewaunee’s Brian Bruechert kept Joski in his sights through all of the restarts, and got within a car length or two on more than one occasion, but settled for second at the line, followed by Oconto’s Travis Cain, last week’s feature winner Josh Long of Suamico and Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz.

Greenleaf’s Jamie Colwell passed Suamico’s Tyler DeBouche for the lead on lap 8. Jamie’s brother Jesse wrestled second away from DeBouche one circuit later and the contest appeared to be a Colwell one-two punch.

Courchaine, driving with a battered race car with damage sustained in an early race wreck, rode the high line from his fifth starting spot. Courchaine patiently gained on the brothers each lap, and pulled off the winning pass on the final circuits. Jesse and Jamie Colwell took second and third, respectively as the brothers debuted brand new race cars. Shiocton’s Barry Van Straten took fourth with Gillett’s Kyle Frederick rounding out the top five.

Defending track champion Menasha’s TJ Smith took over the points lead in the Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals by winning the division’s feature. Chilton’s Tom Schneider took second in his best performance of the year. Brillion’s Ben Stumpf, Manitowoc’s Mike Bastain and Chilton’s Bernie Schommer placed third through fifth, respectively.

Hometown driver Kraig Koehler kept Stockbridge’s Adam Broehm and company at bay and went on to win the 20 lap street stock feature. Broehm took second followed by Brillion veteran Randy Rahn, Luxemburg’s George Paul and Green Bay’s Todd Hebel.

In the Stock car feature Pulaski’s Junior Karcz, by virtue of his seventh place finish, won the $100 Manitowoc Motor and Machining product gift certificate.

By virtue of his crash in the Stock car feature Pulaski’s JJ Anderson was awarded a pair of AP Brake Pads redeemable through Behling Circle Track Equipment in Butler.

Oconto’s Ralph Liegois Jr. padded his points lead with the sport four feature win, which went caution free.

(Francis Creek, WI) July 9 – Denmark’s RM Van ended an eight year winless drought by winning the 20 lap Modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday night.

A total 110 of drivers turned out to race, including 24 Modifieds, 19 Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, 21 Sportmods, 18 Stock Cars, 18 Street stocks and 11 Sport 4’s.

Van Pay passed Seymour’s Jamie Schmidt for the lead on lap five and endured several caution periods throughout the contest. Van Pay fought off longtime arch rival Eddie Muenster for the win on the final circuit. Muenster took second, followed by De Pere’s Johnny Whitman, Sobieski’s Sean Jerovetz and Denmark’s Tim Czarneski. The win was Van Pay’s first in more than eight years of racing modifieds.

Don Sorce Jr. made the long haul from Milwaukee worthwhile as he won the 20 lap Brian Peterson Builders Grand national feature. Sorce became the ninth winner in the division in ten weeks of racing. Trailing at the checkers were Brillion’s Alex Stumpf, Chilton’s Steve Schneider, Brillion’s Ben Stumpf and Manitowoc’s Mike Bastian.

Pulaski’s Junior Karcz outdueled Green Bay’s Mike Pierrard and went on to win the Stock car feature, padding his points lead in the process. Pierrard took second in his best performance here of the year. Hilbert’s John Mahlberg took third, followed by Ellisville’s Bob Waechter and Shiocton’s Barry Van Straten.

Greenville’s Danny Gracyalny padded his points lead with a street stock feature win. Sugar Bush veteran Fred Davister led in the early going but surrendered the lead to Gracyalny on lap 9 and Davister dogged the points leader the entire contest. Hometown driver Kraig Koehler squeezed past Davister to take second on a late restart and wound up with second place pay, followed by Davister, Two Rivers’ Dave Gauger Sr. and Appleton’s Matt Warner.

With his fifth place finish, Warner was awarded the $100 Manitowoc Motor and Machining product gift certificate.

Suamico’s Josh Long muscled his way inside of De Pere’s Mike Dauphinais to take the lead on the final lap and win the Sportmod feature. Dauphinais took second in his best performance of the year here. Sturgeon Bay’s Ryan LeMieux, Green Bay’s Troy Jerovetz and Green Bay’s Eric Mahlik rounding out the top five.

Green Bay’s Brandon Kaye won the sport four feature by a full straightaway advantage over the second place car Mike Zitzer of Sheboygan.
