(Francis Creek, WI) January 24 — Tri County Heating in New Franken has signed on to become the primary sponsor for a 2012 Harris IMCA northern sportmod that will be given away later this year at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.

The car will be awarded to a sportmod driver at the end of the year who races in 75 percent or more of the track’s weekly shows in 2012. In addition, division drivers who earn 100 percent attendance racing their cars all year will receive a mulligan — an extra chip in the drawing bag when the machine is awarded to a driver at season’s end in August. The value of the car, without a motor and transmission, is $15,000.

Tri County Heating was founded in 1982 by Larry Lautenbach and his son Tim Lautenbach. In addition to providing top-notch HVAC equipment and services and customer support, the family has roots that run deep into local racing. TCH has sponsored more than two dozen drivers on dirt and asphalt in northeastern Wisconsin, spanning three decades. “Tony Bouche was the first driver I sponsored and that was quite some time ago,” said Larry Lautenbach, a self-described “bean counter” for the company.

Lautenbach’s racing itch took off in the early 1990′s, when he began attending races at Luxemburg, and other tracks, on a more frequent basis. His grandson, Brad Lautenbach, is an IMCA northern sportmod state champion while Brad’s brother Brian Lautenbach is an accomplished scorer at many area tracks, including the Badger Mod Tour.

Larry and his wife Cheryl seldom, if ever miss a race locally. “We hit about 8 shows out of town last year too,” said Larry Lautenbach. “The sponsorship deal with racing has drawn some new business over the years but more importantly we’ve gained some valuable friendships along the way. We love helping the teams and that’s why we’re doing this sportmod giveaway deal. Anyone who supports the track has a chance at it — not just the winner.”

“The nice deal with this car giveaway is that the sponsors that are on board while it’s on display will be on the car for the entire 2013 racing season,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “In essence, any businesses that jump on board with this promotion will be getting two years worth of advertising. We’re grateful that Tri County Heating and our other sponsors has stepped up in this deal, and we’ve still got more space available on the car.”

Other businesses backing this race car giveaway are 141 Speedway, Jerovetz Shock Services, S & B Trailer Sales, Victory Sign, Thunderrock Fabrication and Manitowoc Motor and Machine.

Tri County Heating is located at 4724 N New Franken Road, New Franken, Wisconsin 54229. Their website is tricountyhtg.com. Their phone number is (920) 866 3271.

For more information on 141 Speedway please check 141speedway.com. You can also follow 141 Speedway on both Facebook and Twitter. 141 Speedway is located 15 minutes south of Green Bay on County “R” in Francis Creek. For more information call (920) 905 1112.

(Francis Creek, WI) January 5 — 141 Speedway will be giving away a complete 2012 Harris Racing Sportmod at the end of the year to one lucky driver who competes regularly at the high-banked, third mile clay oval.

The car, valued at nearly $15,000, will be awarded to any sportmod driver who competes in 75 percent or more of the track’s weekly shows in 2012. In addition, division drivers who earn 100 percent attendance racing their cars all year will receive a mulligan — an extra chip in the drawing bag when the machine is awarded to a driver at season’s end in August.

“We got a ton of great feedback from the drivers after our motor giveaways last year,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “They said it’s pretty rare for local tracks to do giveaways of that nature around here. This car is ready to rock, minus a motor and transmission. And we’ve got our staff working on getting a motor deal put together as well. We’ll also be giving some motors away later this year. We’ll have those announcements at our drivers meeting in February.”

Among the businesses backing this race car giveaway are 141 Speedway, Jerovetz Shock Services, S & B Trailer Sales, Victory Sign, Thunderrock Fabrication and Manitowoc Motor and Machine. The car
will be displayed this season right inside the Victory Lane Pub located at 141 Speedway. The car will also be on display at 3rd annual Lakeshore Motorsports Show & Sale Saturday, January 21 at the Manitowoc County Expo’s Merchants Building.

(Francis Creek, WI) December 30 – If there’s one key theme to 141 Speedway’s last two seasons of racing at the Francis Creek oval, it’s undoubtedly been “change.”

In 2010, the historic 1/4 mile paved oval, a Lakeshore tradition for one-half century, was taken out and replaced with a high-banked, third-mile clay oval.

In 2011, the track switched it’s weekly program from Wedesday nights to Saturday nights. More change.

Track owners Bruce and Renee Conard admit they’ll sleep a little easier in 2012. For the first time in more than two years, they’ll kick off the racing season with virtually no major changes at all. “It’s sort of a breath of fresh air,” said Bruce Conard. “A lot of this stuff we had to worry about in the past we really don’t have to this year. We had a solid 2011 and are looking at building upon it even more in 2012.”

141 saw it’s average, weekly car count increase as the summer months wore on, a trend much different than most weekly dirt tracks in Wisconsin. “Our Modified and Brian Peterson Builders Grand National classes were pretty steady, but we saw a pretty good jump in the Stock Car and Street Stock classes, especially in late July and early August,” said Bruce Conard. “I’m not sure what it was. We take a lot of pride in the whole program, everything from track prep to the concession area up top to shooting the t shirts out to the fans at intermission. We pay attention to the details and we’d like to think it’s paid off for us.”

On tap again for the 2012 season will be the Modifieds, Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals, Stock Cars, Street Stocks, Sportmods and 4 Bangers. While the upcoming season’s schedule is not finished just yet, Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will invade 141 Sunday May 27 and Sunday, September 2. A third IRA date is a distinct possibility, along with a Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA) late model special as well.

The new Badger Mod Tour will roll into town on Wednesday night June 27 for “Clash @ The Creek IV”. Last year Seymour’s Brian Mullen topped the 36 car field. The Badger Mod Tour series champion will be crowned on championship night, October 12.

In addition, World of Outlaws sprint car legend Sammy Swindell will be hosting the Open Wheel Driving school July 9.

141 Speedway’s Victory Lane Sports Bar is open during the winter on Friday and Saturday nights at 5 p.m. serving a full menu. A Badger Mod Tour drivers meeting will take place at the bar Thursday night, January 19 at 7 p.m. The track phone is (920) 863 3377. You can also call 920 905 1112.

The season kicks off Saturday night, April 14 at 6 p.m. An open practice session will take place at the track on Saturday, April 7. You can learn more by checking out 141speedway.com. You can also follow 141 Speedway on both Facebook and Twitter.

(Francis Creek, WI) Oct. 13 – The first 300 kids through the gates at the Tisler Salvage Night of Mayhem at 141 Speedway on Saturday, October 15 will receive a free trick or treat bag filled with candy. For adults, all cans of beer will be just $2, any brand.

In addition, track promoter Bruce Conard will challenge all 2011 track champions in a “Gauntlet race.” Conard, flanked by 141 Speedway’s Merle Lisowe and Joe Higgins, will pilot a Hurst around the high-banked, third-mile, clay oval. All six of the track champions (Troy Jerovetz, TJ Smith, Sean Jerovetz, Ralph Legiois Jr., Junior Karcz and Danny Gracyalny) will have the chance to crash Conard out with cars provided by the track. So far, the drivers who’ve committed to trying to take out Conard and Co. are Troy Jerovetz, Smith and Liegois Jr.

To keep it interesting, any number of objects may go flying at the drivers, including, but not limited to: Paintballs, pumpkins and water balloons. “We’ve got some bus drivers coming from out of the area so this deal is shaping up to be pretty big, bigger than I ever thought,” said Bruce Conard.

The night will include bus races, Trailer races, bump and run and Double O races, chain and blind man’s races, with a massive fireworks display to cap off the night. The raindate, if needed, will be Sunday, October 16.

Adult admission is just $10. Student and seniors $8 for students and 10 and under are free with a paid adult. There is a drivers payout for these events. For more information call Bruce at (920) 905 1112.
The track phone is (920) 863 3377. The track website is 141speedway.com and you can follow 141 Speedway on both Facebook and Twitter. 141 Speedway is located 20 minutes south of Green Bay on County “R” in Francis Creek.
