Eligible Models
a. 1950 or newer American made.
    1. Minimum wheelbase 108"
        A. Ford: 105"
    2. Body swaps allowed
    3. Ford or Chrysler engines may be installed in a GM metric chassis built to Mid-Am specs.
    4. Unibody cars are not allowed

Chassis
Frames
a. Must be completely stock configuration from front of steering box to behind rear spring pockets
b. No modifications, or alterations of any kind (chopping, shortening, wedging, dropping)
    1. The only exception being notching and plating for fuel pump clearance (See Section V.K.2.a.ii)
c. Minimum frame height: 6" (except front crossmember)
    1. 5" minimum height on exhaust
    2. All measurements with driver in car
d. Plating of frame for strength or repair is allowed
Suspension
a. Springs
    1. Stock appearing steel spring that fits in original mounts in original location.
    2. Springs may be altered (cut, heated, or bent)
    3. No twist-in spring spacers allowed.
    4. Hidden spring spacers allowed on top of front springs
    5. Two rear weight jacks are allowed
b. Shocks
    1. Aftermarket OEM shocks allowed Ð stock mount only
    2. Front shocks must be in stock location
        A. spacers may be used on bottom mount
    3. Rear shocks must be OEM style rubber mount
        A. Mounting positions may be moved
    4. No aluminum shocks
    5. Adjustable shocks allowed
        A. Adjustment may not be external
Spindles & Hubs
a. All components must be stock OEM.
b. No drop spindles.
c. Spindles stock for that make and model of chassis
d. No lightening of hubs.
e. Coleman hub recommended on right front GM metric chassis
Steering
a. Stock tie rods only
    1. No heim joints
    2. No aluminum tie rod sleeves
b. Cars using aftermarket steering shaft must...
    1. Install a safety sleeve in the main shaft OR
    2. Use a complete aftermarket collapsible racing column
    3. An impact collar must be welded on the shaft before the final mounting bearing.
Control Arms**
a. Stock control arms may be used
    1. OEM correct for make and model and year
b Front upper control arm may be replaced with complete steel tubular drop in replacement, one piece control arm of stock length, plus or minus1/2" of stock length using stock ball joints. Stock length is 8".
c. No metal bushings
d. Upper A-arm cross shaft may be milled 1/4" maximum
    1. Offset cross shaft is legal
e. Upper A-arm may be notched for shock bolt clearance
f. no DCR rear control arm bushings or pivots allowed
g. modification of top hats is prohibited
h. top hats must remain in original OEM condition

** These rules are being added as a research and development trial. Failure to comply will result in the rules from 2007 being reinstated.

Modifications
a. Rear upper control arms may be modified for pinion angle correction
b. Rear upper trailing arm holes may be raised up to 1" on the frame
Sway Bars
a. OEM Sway Bars Only
a. Must be mounted to frame in stock position in stock mounts
    1. May be adjustable
    2. Lollipop adjusters are not allowed
Wheel Base
a. Must match stock dimension (Maximum 1" variance between the two sides)
Roll Cage
a. 6 point roll cage is mandatory
b. No offset cages
c. No laid back cages
d. Minimum 4 drivers side door bars.
    1. Drivers side door bars must be plated with minimum 1/8" plate steel
    2. Door bars must have 2 uprights between each door bar.
    3. Drivers door bars should be flush with inside of door skin.
e. Cage must have 1 bar side to side at dash level
f. Minimum 3 right side door bars.
g. Which may run straight between front and rear uprights.
h. Minimum 2 side to side bars behind drivers seat
    1. 1 bar side to side at shoulder height
    2. 1 bar diagonally from top to bottom
i. Each side of cage must have an upright bar at vent window area (Wing Window Bars)
j. Top halo of roll cage must have a center bar from the front to rear of the halo.
k. Cage must be securely welded to frame with 3" gussets
l. Mandatory bars will be 1 3/4" x 0.095 round steel tube
m. Driver foot protection bar highly recommended
n. 2 bars from top of rear hoop extending through to rear frame rails
o. Bars from firewall forward optional
p. All 90 degree connections must be gusseted
q. All roll cages, installations and welding will have to meet approval of safety inspectors
r. While sitting in seat, mandatory 3" clearance between top of drivers helmet and top of roll cage
s. Main hoop should be 39" high
    1. Main hoop must be vertical
    2. Lower cages may be issued weight penalties
t. X-brace in the center of the frame section, underneath the driver compartment, is highly recommended (Mid-Am Style)
u. Roll cages set back further than 82 1/2" from center of lower ball joint to back of main hoop will have weight penalty of 100 lbs. The further back, the more weight will apply.

Bodies
Body Overview
a Must resemble a production vehicle
b. Must be all steel
    1. Nose and Tail accepted
    2. No fiberglass
    3. No aluminum
    4. Minimum thickness 24 gauge
c. Must use a stock production roof
d. No offset bodies
e. Aftermarket or neatly fabricated nose and tail may be used
(officials discretion)
f. Drivers door must be gutted for installation of door bars.
g. Driver's compartment may use stock firewall or fabricated "foot box."
    1. Foot Box may not be set back any further than 4" from stock firewall location (call the track if clarification on exact placement is needed)
    2. Minimum 18 gauge steel construction
h. Stock floor or 1/8" plate required under driver
i. Interior may be of Mid-American design
    1. Must be steel; minimum 22 gauge
j. All interior upholstery and flammable material must be removed.
k. All exterior chrome, door handles, etc. must be removed
l. All glass, except windshield, must be removed
    1. If using lexan or screen for windshield, must be braced with either (3) 1" x 1/8" straps, or (3) 3/8" minimum square or round steel tubing, evenly spaced.
    2. Mesh must be 1" or smaller, 0.035 minimum wire diameter type 304 stainless steel or equivalent
        A. Drivers using screens must use approved full face helmet
    3. No tinted windows
m. Front and rear firewalls must be completely sealed with minimum 22 gauge steel
n. No sharp edges
    1. Wheel wells, if hemmed, must be hemmed inward
Hood & Trunk
a. Remove stock latches

Bumpers and Protection Bars

Engines
Definition
Unmodified" Definition: Sanding, grinding, porting, polishing, relieving, acid dipping, chemical treating, abrasive blasting, re-drilling, addition of material, flow enhancing techniques, etc. are all considered to be modifications and therefore not legal in any further areas marked No modifications.
Sealed Engines
Sealed GM Crate Motor P/N 88958602 with Holley P/N 080541-1 650 CFM 4 barrel is legal. See Section 7.13 for additional weight details.
Maximum Cube Displacement
a. Chevy 360
b. Ford 361
c. Mopar 366.
Vortec Head Compression Restriction
Chevys using Vortec heads are limited to 10.8:1 compression and a 2 barrel carburetor.
Chassis and Engine Combination
a. Must be from parent company of chassis
b. No aluminum blocks
c. No aluminum heads
Cams
a. May be solid or hydraulic
b. No roller cams
c. No roller rockers
d. No stud girdles allowed
e. Vortech engines maximum valve lift .500
Intakes

Exhaust Manifolds**

b. Headers part number to be determined for crate motor.
c. No Corvette exhaust manifolds.
d. Maximum 2 ½" exhaust pipes.
e. Exhaust must end behind driver.
f. Mufflers are mandatory
g. A 5" I.D. muffler is permissible as part of a 2 into 1 exhaust system
    1. Maximum 5" muffler length 18"
    2. Maximum 5" length of turn down from end of muffler is 9".
h. 96 decibels maximum.
    1. Measurement will be taken from pit grandstand.
    2. One week to fix
    3. $20.00 fine every week not fixed.
i. No exhaust pipe in drivers compartment
j. Any car with headers will have to add extra weight.

Chevy Small Block Crank Weight Requirement
a. Minimum 50 lbs.
Engine Placement
a. 73 - 77 Monte Carlo in stock location
    1. All others may be set back so the lower ball joints line up with the number 1 spark plug
b. On GM metric chassis: we will use the Mid-Am measurement
    1. 33 1/2" from the top steering box bolt to the back of the engine block
    2. The cross member must be notched out and plated in the area of the fuel pump only
c. Engine must be centered side to side

Transmission & Drivetrain
Transmission

a. Stock transmission for make and model
b. Transmission must remain completely unaltered
c. All gears must function
Clutch, Pressure Plate and Flywheel
a. Clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel must be stock OEM type
b. No aluminum flywheels
c. Flywheel, clutch disk, and pressure plate must weigh minimum 40 lbs combined for non crate motors. Crate motors to be determined.
d. Scatter shield or steel bell housing required
e. Aftermarket clutch pedals are allowed
Clutch/Flywheel Inspection Hole
a. All cars are required to have a clutch/flywheel inspection hole
b. If dust cover or clutch release fork hole is in appropriate position to view them, it will be adequate
c. 1" hole is preferred
Automatic Transmissions
a. Automatic transmissions must function in all gears
b. Torque converter and flex plate must weigh 40 lbs.
    1. If teched for converter weight, save fluid, no allowance for lost fluid
c. No transmission coolers in drivers' compartment

Differentials & Driveshaft
a. Ford 9" may be used in any GM chassis
    1. No floater rear ends
    2. Must be drum brake
    3. Mounts must be from original rear end.
b. Rear ends locked with a spool, mini spool, or welded
    1. Factory style limited slip allowed
        A. Detroit lockers or other ratcheting types not allowed
        B. No inserts: EZLock, LockRite, Powertrack, Gearless Locker
    2. C-clip eliminators are allowed
c. Driveshaft must be white or bright
d. No aluminum or composite driveshafts
e. All cars must have driveshaft safety hoop of minimum 1" x 1/8" strap steel
    1. Hoop should be 6" behind front U-joint

Cooling System
a. Any radiator may be used
    1. Must fit in stock location
    2. Hood must close
    3. One radiator only
b. Water only
    1. Anti-freeze is $20.00 fine
c. Top 180 degrees of fan must be shrouded with minimum 18 gauge steel
    1. Factory stock shrouding acceptable if it covers top of fan
d. Electric fans, if used, must operate by a clearly labeled switch
    1. No automatically controlled fans
e. Required: 1 quart (minimum) overflow catch can

Brakes
a. All cars must have safe functioning brakes at all four wheels
    1. Disc brake caliper must be OEM for make and model of frame
b. Stock master cylinder only
    1. Must be mounted to firewall or foot box in stock location
    2. No floor mount
    3. Stock brake pedal must be in stock location +/- 1/2"
    4. No pedal extensions or pedal modifications without written permission
c. No drilled or grooved rotors
d. No made for racing components, except pads and brake proportioning valve
e. Adjustable brake proportioning valves are allowed when mounted under the hood
f. No 4 wheel discs unless they were original equipment on the frame used

Wheels & Tires
a. Maximum 8" wide rims
b. No aluminum or Magnesium alloy (Mag) wheels
c. Racing rims on right side
d. Minimum backspace 2"
e. 1" lug nuts required
f. 1/2" minimum wheel studs
g. Tires may be Good Year or Hoosier, but you must race with the tires you used for qualification
h. No Tire softening or chemical treatment of any kind allowed
i. Track reserves the right to impound any tire for any length of time necessary to determine if it has been chemically treated.
j. Minimum bare wheel weight: 19 lbs.
k. No wheel spacers allowed.
l. One new tire is allowed per night, three of the tires must have the 141 Speedway brand.

Electrical
a. One 12 volt battery only
    1. Securely mounted in a battery box away from fuel cell and lines
b. Stock type ignitions only
    1. No MSD Boxes
    2. No traction control
    3. Stock distributor ignitions only, no internally adjustable or chipped distributors allowed

Fuel & Tanks
a. A fuel cell is required
    1. Must be mounted between frame rails as far forward as possible
    2. Minimum 11" ground clearance
    3. Must have fuel cell protector bar angle braced to frame
    4. Cell must be in a minimum 20 gauge can
    5. Must be secured by four 1/8" x 1" straps, two straps in each direction
b. Mounting will be heavily scrutinized, inspectors decision final
c. No fuel lines through drivers compartment, unless through continuous conduit
d. No bottom draw fuel tanks
e. All vent lines must have check valves
f. No alcohol
g. No oxygenators or nitro additives
h. Fuel must be automotive gasoline only
    1. Track reserves the right to sample fuel
i. Mechanical fuel pumps only

Weight
a. Minimum weight for non-crate engine after race is 3200 lbs.
b. Minimum weight for crate engine after race is 3000 lbs.
c. Weighing includes driver seated in the driver's seat
d. All ballast must be painted white and have car number on it
e. All weights must be bolted; (1/2" diameter minimum hardware) or welded to frame
    1. No weight may be lower than 6" from the ground
    2. Any weight mounted behind the rear axle may not be lower than 10" from the ground
f. Loss of weight; immediate disqualification and $20.00 fine
g. Maximum 60% left side weight
h. Technical Inspectors may, at their discretion, add weight penalties for infractions. Refer to Section 5, Penalties.

Teardown and Penalties
Track Teardown
a. The 141 Speedway will teardown engines on a regular basis.
    1. Top End teardown - $40 awarded if legal
    2. Bottom End teardown - $125 awarded if legal
b. Any car subject to teardown that leaves the grounds or refuses the teardown will be suspended for 4 weeks.
c. The track retains the right to tear down any engine at any time without compensation.
Competitor Teardown
A driver competing in the same feature event may request a teardown of another competitor.
Requirement of Challenger
a. Request Must Be in Writing
b. Drivers making the request must have finished on the lead lap
c. Protestor's own car must pass inspection
Time Requirement
Requests for a competitor teardown must be made within 10 minutes of the end of the event.
Amount of Protest Money
a. $200.00 to do a Top End Check
b. $500.00 to do a Bottom End Check
Teardown Findings
a. If found to be legal, protestee receives the protest money
b. If found illegal, the protester receives the protest money; illegal car earns no points or money for that evening as well as possible long term suspension
Refusal to Teardown
Any car subject to teardown or that has been notified of a protest, that leaves the grounds or refuses the teardown will be suspended for 4 weeks
Infractions and Penalties
a. Depending on the severity of the infraction, the track may issue a penalty up to loss of all accumulated points, surrender of pay, and/or suspension up to a year.

Safety Requirements
Competitors must meet the following safety requirements in order to participate in an event
a. Driver's suit made of a flame retardant nature. The condition of the suit is subject to the officials' discretion.
b. A minimum Snell 2000 rated or newer helmet. SA rated helmets recommended. M rated helmets allowed if used in conjunction with fire retardant head sock.
c. Eye protection is required.
d. Fire retardant gloves are required
e. Fire retardant neck brace is required. A Hans or other style head and neck support system may be used in place of a brace

Restrictions
a. No two way radios allowed in cars
b. No traction control
c. No turbos, superchargers, or nitrous oxide
d. No Titanium allowed anywhere
